50th anniversary concert!

My wife and I went to the 50th anniversary concert at Buck Lake Ranch, in Angola, IN, this past Saturday (August 20th). Bob Hartman, John Schlitt, John Lawry, Greg Bailey, Cristian Borneo, plus the other three ORIGINAL members of Petra (1972-1977), Greg Hough (guitar), John DeGroff (bass), and Bill ...

There are a few videoclips on Youtube that might show what you ask for:

What an awful stage!
Well, it IS on a boat. Doesn't look like a very big one, either, so likely very limited space.

Re: Classic Petra Music Boat Cruise 2012 photos wanted

There are a few videoclips on Youtube that might show what you ask for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_sIKo66qZ0 Thanks! Interesting that in the longest clip (and the only one where you can actually see Bob Hartman playing the guitar), he's playing the song that inspired me to want to learn to p...

Classic Petra Music Boat Cruise 2012 photos wanted

Does anyone here have band photos from Classic Petra's Music Boat Cruise in November 2012? I'm buying the guitar Bob Hartman used during that cruise from him, and he sent me a photo of him playing the guitar (an SX Callisto JR he upgraded), but I'd like to get photos of him with the rest of the band...

Re: Interesting stuff in Bob Hartman's garage sale

I'm buying the SX single cut (actually an SX Callisto JR) from Bob. He told me he used it late in the Classic Petra tour (2010-2012). Before that he was using a red Telecaster with a white pick guard, but he said he liked the sound of the SX better.

Re: Petra New Project?

When I met up with Bob Hartman early last month to pick up my custom guitar, he mentioned that they are discussing the possibility of doing a 50th anniversary concert in Indiana next year. Hoping and praying for it!

Great. Enjoy it.
Oh, believe me, I am! 8) It plays really well - fits my hands as good as I hoped it would, and sounds great, too!

Re: Bob Hartman Guitars

Picked up my guitar on Saturday. Bob, Kim, and Jeff Hartman met my wife, my mother-in-law, and I in Knoxville, TN for lunch, and Bob gave me the guitar afterwards. It's AWESOME! https://i.postimg.cc/fbt3DP8x/IMG-0063.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/25s16xtg/20210605-161924.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/rsczGwMJ...

Re: Bob Hartman Guitars

And it's all those seemingly small details that end up making a huge difference. I am able to do a setup myself under normal conditions - that is if everything is working as it should (truss rods and the like). And spending the time on getting it just right and making sure the intonation and everyt...

Re: Bob Hartman Guitars

I know that this is a "zombie" thread, but Bob is still building custom guitars on a one-off basis. He uses parts from Warmoth, primarily - nothing wrong with that, since he uses Warmoth parts to build his own personal guitars as well. He is currently building one for me, which should be ready in a...

Re: Bob Hartman Guitars

Bob makes good guitars, as there is more to it than just the parts. I owned one of his tele-style, and really liked it. I keep this one because... well, because: It was #6 of the 7 J&H guitars he made, and he has since sold the one he kept for himself. I think he must have built another one, then, ...

Re: Petra in Steelville, MO

My wife and I went as our anniversary gift to each other (we're both PetHeads! 😁). We did the meet-and-greet dinner before going to the evening concert. It was pretty awesome getting to meet the band members (except John Lawry, who was still recovering from emergency surgery and trying to stay away ...
