I guess this is goodbye...

Hello all... My soon-to-be-ex-wife is coming today to move out her things...including the computer. I doubt if I will be able to afford to get my own computer anytime soon, so I won't be posting here for quite a long time...if ever. Thank you for the discussions, debates, advice, and, most of all, t...

Hello all...just wanted to give you an update. Well, on Tuesday night, February 15, we held a memorial service for my dad at First Baptist Church in Winterset, IA. (Following the wake/viewing on Sunday, February 13, Dad was cremated, as per his wishes). I got up to do a eulogy about my dad. At first...

Hello all again...I'm typing this on Sunday evening, February 13, 2005. My dad's wake was today. The viewing was from 1 pm to 3 pm. He will be cremated, as per his wishes. We are having a memorial service on Tuesday, February 15 at First Baptist Church in my hometown of Winterset, IA at 7 pm. My dad...

My dad passed away on 2-11-2005

Hello all...I'm writing this to tell you that my dad, who had terminal lung cancer, died February 11, 2005 at 8:48 pm. Although I am a wreck right now, I just wanted you all to know that I am also happy. Why? Because on February 7, just 4 days before his death, my dad accepted Jesus Christ as his Lo...

At 70 years old, Elvis (if he were alive) would be, instead of a "hunka, hunka burning love"...a shriveled, shriveled little prune.

2005 is looking just as bad as 2004...if not worse!

Hello all... I remember a "Happy New Year" thread started by someone. I mentioned that 2004 couldn't end soon enough for me, because on May 17, my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I said at the time that I hope 2005 is better. Well, I was wrong...my wife informed me this weekend (Jan. 30) tha...

My favorite Petra song is "Somebody's Gonna Praise His Name" from ON FIRE! Great song from beginning to end...the keyboard-laden ballad-like intro, then it pauses for a nanosecond, then Louie's drums and Bob's guitar kicks it into overdrive. John's vocals are filled with Holy Spirit power. Plus, the...

I really don't know what's going to happen to me when my dad dies. Next to Jesus Christ, he's the man I admire most. My dad knew he was going to die from cancer. He started smoking at age 6, and smoked for 50 years. He finally quit at age 56 because he had emergency surgery for 6 aneurisms (sp?) on ...

I hope 2005 is better than 2004. I don't think I can take another year like this past one. I lost 2 jobs to circumstances beyond my control, and my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer on May 17, 2004. Thank you Jesus, for giving me strength to get thru this past year. I don't know how I would hav...

Re: PetFaninCT's remarks... Nobody's calling you a cheapskate. Heck, if buying used CDs makes you cheap, then I'm downright "Scrooge-like"...I buy 98% of my clothes at second-hand shops (Goodwill, Salvation Army, DAV, etc.). Thankfully, I'm a jeans and T-shirt kind of guy. And yes, I wash every arti...
