Re: New Petra Project

I have seen some very few bands not bothering with making studio records, but releasing new material through live performances. If Petra ever contemplated going through this route, the benefits are there - no need for costly studio time, no hiring studio cats, no bothering with publishing & distrib...

Re: John Schlitt's involvement

Now Sue, is John happy about his co-Petra alumni and what God has in store for them, like a good man of God should?
Ouch. Can we stop pouring salt into raw wounds?

Re: TBN Show Promotion

Facebook is, in a sense, word of mouth. If I tell my friend through FB that Petra is playing a show on Saturday, does that friend consider the source of the information Facebook or me, his friend? Facebook is interesting because it is both medium and a source. Well, partially correct, Still, I thin...

Re: TBN Show Promotion

Facebook is still not an effective marketing tool for events. Word of mouth beats it by far. Our church always does surveys on events attendance and FB always turns out as the least effective while WOM turns out the highest. Of course, we have to take scope into consideration when discussing how ef...

Re: In need of prayer and advice

I'll keep it simple. You have some pent up anger against someone or something, some rage that boils over that makes you act or react irrationally. It is like a volcano waiting to erupt. You better let it go.

Re: Petra Wikipedia page project - Nearly done!

Why not a relatively newer song, like "All about who you know" from J &H, or "Till everything I do". Old songs have a way of proving that the band belonged to the past, Heh! Heh! Especially when you want the page to tempt someone to buy their albums.

Re: God Fixation, for now?

Well, firstly, GF is the album that officially introduced me to Petra, though the first record that heard. Notwithstanding, I still find GF to be lyrically superior to all other albums. Production-wisely, I find excellent, better that WUC, but of course will not satisfy many a crunch-hungry fans. WU...

Sounds like they needed a hot meal and two good night sleep before they contemplated walking away from Truth like Elijah the Prophet.

Re: Petra Wikipedia page project

Sorry to bring this old thread up again, but I just wanted to commend the great work that has gone into improving the quality of Petra-band Wikipedia site by Paul (CatNamedManny). The page is now quite orderly, the content has been greatly increased plus newer features added. Congrats and thanks a l...

Re: Double Take

I absolutely loved the Double take album coz of the "Rich musical details" it offers. Listen to it as a fan of music and not as a rock-freak and you'll notice that its great-musically. The melodies are sweet and up to date, great orchestra dramatize the music. Of course, there are a few things about...
