Re: What's Your Favorite Rez Band Song????

A lot of people like their earliest albums the best, but I like their albums from the mid/late 80's onward. I don't know why but I do. I think a lot depends on what's happening in our lives when we are discovering these albums. It's pretty hard to top the albums that we listened to during our forma...

Re: Stryper video

Never got to see that video back in the day because my parents wouldn't get a VCR. YouTube is so handy for keeping these gems from disappearing forever. Back in the 80s, I was blissfully unaware of these issues with Stryper, as were all of my fellow Stryper fans. We also didn't know that Petra was g...

Re: Favorite Daniel Band songs

The way you went through a period of just listening to a bunch of that stuff reminds me of myself- I started listening to Stryper in October of last year and after them I got into Whitecross in January and all through March I got into a bunch of different Classic Christian Rock bands and songs. In ...

Re: Favorite Daniel Band songs

Yes! To be fair though Christian music at the time was less popular and often would have had a smaller budget I suppose, so a number of bands had slightly sub par production. Even some petra albums would sound better with better production. For example Beat the System to Unseen power era Petra. Whi...

Re: What's Your Favorite Rez Band Song????

Another long-winded response from me coming up. I have loved the Resurrection Band since my brother got Live Bootleg for Christmas back in 1984. I've always thought they were just as good as Petra, or very close to it. I made an 80-minute compilation CD about 15 years ago with my favourite songs of ...

Re: Favorite Daniel Band songs

I think on an album or two the production could have been better. Lyrics are somewhat simplistic but not bad. Overall it's the guitar work that I like the most. Yeah, I totally agree with you on these things. Just imagine how great a song like Run from the Darkness could have been with great produc...

Favorite Daniel Band songs

Diehardpetrafan:) started a Daniel Amos topic, so I thought I would start a DANIEL BAND topic. Daniel Band were a hard rock band that put out 5 decent albums in the 80s. I've always thought they were underrated. For those of you that know them, what are your favorite Daniel Band songs? For those of ...

Re: Favorite Daniel Amos song?

Too hard for me to pick favourites, so I'll post a list of songs, in chronological order, that I recommend for people wanting to get to know DA better. For those of you annoyed by my breaking the rules, I have put a ** beside what might be my top 5 at this time: I Love You #19 Hound of Heaven I Beli...

Re: Christian bands & their secular counterparts

I know of a lot of other classic Christian bands but I can't think of who they compare too  I should make a list, there might even be more than 100 if you count some of the smaller ones Yeah, I've thought about doing that before, may be I will. I always include the smaller ones, sometimes the...

Re: Christian bands & their secular counterparts

As for Rez, I definitely hear Grace Slick in Wendy's vocals, while Glenn Kaiser's voice is hard to compare. Maybe Joe Cocker, but Glenn is much better in my opinion. Glenn Kaiser = Bob Seger. Listen to Hollywood Nights and tell me you can't hear Glenn Kaiser. Now that you mention it, you're right!
