Re: Back to The Street recording dates
I see your point. However, these guys aren't young and it would take quite some time to establish a new name. And I still believe most of their fans would be there because of the history. I could be wrong though.

Re: Back to The Street recording dates
I like the idea that they would not call themselves Petra in one form or another if Bob was not involved. We have seen enough of those "Petras" before. However, I wonder why they went for the CPR name. It is a given, before they even start, that this is never going to be a big name because it is rel...

Re: Bob Hartman Jekyll Hyde guitar
Does anyone know if Bob still has a Jekyll and Hyde guitar himself? Back in 2018 trodLAN wrote about a concert in Sweden: "The guitars Bob was using were borrowed from Norway and Sweden. The Jekyll & Hyde guitar was Bobs original guitar used at the farewell tour, and sold to a guy at Flekkeroy, Norw...

Re: Back to The Street recording dates
Maybe CPR could take a crack at it! I very much doubt they are going to do it, but it would be interesting. I guess, however, that I am finding myself among a minority in this case and that there would be much more interest in them doing other stuff. However it would somehow strengthen the message,...

Re: Guitarist Discussion
I use very few effects these days. A lot of the time I play clean with a Vox ac30 type of sound. When I use overdrive I go for pedals that recreate the sound of some of the classic old amps (fender, marshall and the like). I really like the point where the overdrive is there but you still have to wo...

Re: Back to The Street recording dates
It's been a very long time since I last heard Back to The Street. I really like it and clearly remember the songs but as a whole the recording is not really working for me. Though it is probably never going to happen, it would be really interesting to hear a re-recording of this album in which the g...

Re: Guitarist Discussion
These days some guitars don't cost a lot though they are very, very good.George Harrison wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 8:48 pmIt's a great guitar for the price, only $400 Canadian new. Quite beautiful and it is functional and although it is definitely not a premium guitar it's still very pleasant to play.

Re: Bob Hartman Jekyll Hyde guitar
Thanks Curt- yes I am hoping to start this in the near future. May do it on a cheap guitar for learning purposes first- possibly even a kit to get an idea. Yeah, for me I have settled on the LP- I like the Strat, but recently fell in love with a 98 Les Paul that I can’t put down. I like the heavy t...

Re: Guitarist Discussion
I am a young amateur guitarist who is still learning. Only played a few years. Don't really play in a band although I do make music with a few friends. I still play a cheap beginner's guitar; the Yamaha Pacifica 112. I never tried a Yamaha Pacifica 112 but I have heard that they are quite good guit...

Re: Bob Hartman Jekyll Hyde guitar
Thanks Curt! Again, very helpful. I was thinking the same thing- maybe finding a project LP style and work from there. You have any idea how the black dye is used to get that look? Thank you. I have no idea how he got that look. My best guess would be to write Bob an e-mail and ask. I just don't kn...

Re: Bob Hartman Jekyll Hyde guitar
Curt, thanks man- very helpful. I would be interested in the specs. If you can provide that would be great! Thank you. I don't like "Fake News" either. It is very hard to hear it without associating it with messages that are even more fake than fake news.Mountain Man wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 1:38 pmListened to the album again, and the two songs I really don't care for are "Time Keeps Rolling" and "Fake News". I like every other song on the album.

Re: Petra should do a live concert cd
Sheesh! I didn't know everyone disliked the Elefantes so much. Heck Petra sounded better then than their newer stuff even from late 90s. I think they had Petra at their best, and I don't think anything was wasted and if it sounded different it wouldn't be "Petra" to many of you including myself, ad...

Re: Bob Hartman Jekyll Hyde guitar
I found out from Bob he is no longer making the Jekyll and Hyde guitar, I know this is an old thread, but anyone interested in selling one? The original asking price when you bought them from Bob was $1900 with a hard shell case. Though that is quite a lot of money I feel quite sure it would be wor...
