Re: "Beat the System" Release Date Controversy
If Beat The System is from 1984, and Captured in Time and Space is from 1985, that could mean that Beat The System was released in 1984, and they had some tours in 1985, which would've been recorded for CITAS, right? Just my thought ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ CITAS was recorded in late November 1985, no way it was ...

Re: "Beat the System" Release Date Controversy
I'm not sure you're right about the VHS. The video might be from a single show, but the audio is definitely from the album mix because it is note-for-note identical. The video is clearly from one show. Same room, same audience, same clothing. They might have dubbed the video with the best audio, bu...

Re: "Beat the System" Release Date Controversy
Finally, there's the vinyl version which I've never heard but I understand is even more trimmed down than the CD Wrong. The vinyl version is the intermediate version between the cassette and the CD. The CD was heavily cut down to fit 74 minutes, and there were no such rigid constraints with the vin...

Re: "Beat the System" Release Date Controversy
I don't think there's a BTS CD with a shortened song. There is absolutely no reason for that. The oldest CD pressings have copyright 1984 on them, but I think that January 1985 sounds about right. I can imagine that they were ready for a late 1984 release on Star Song (Petra finished touring NOTW in...

Re: Petra Concert Listings - CCM Magazine
Have you checked my site for tour inserts? Almost every album from Not Of This World onwards included an insert with a touring schedule. Scans are present on my site. I have a few early 80s CCM magazines with touring calendars as well. Email me at petraspective at gmail dot com and I can send you so...

I think it's supposed to be a one-off show, at least, according to a fb post by Kevin Max.

Re: Washes Whiter Than Missing Tracks
They had to drop some tracks anyway because of capacity limitations on CDs in 1988. I always assumed these tracks were dropped because they were Rob Frazer vocals and to keep the disc more gxv also so they could fit wwt and nsd on one disc. These are great songs. That could well be a reason. They pr...

Re: CPR is now openly marketing themselves as Classic Petra
I got Bob to autograph it, and he looked record puzzled he said I never got paid for this one... Was the first time he had knowledge of it. He should look at my website more often, haha. Seriously, though. This is on A&M Records, so a results of the license deal between Word, Inc. and A&M Records. ...
