Re: New Petra Project
I know what I would love to see. I'm fairly certain bringing John Slick back would be out of the equation , so I won't include him. It's not out of any of my equations, but I never was particularly good with math. Only once has anyone inquired whether I'd like to play with any Petra reincarnation. ...

Re: 1982 - Petra Live in Atlanta
I had to look at different sections of the video many times, to confirm who was playing keyboards. I didn't remember ever playing most of the first few songs. Nice to see this old stuff, and rare that it was so well recorded, and big props to Kim Hartman FOH engineer for the mix. Bob was a fantastic...

Re: JDB
It's ludicrous to think that either one of those stories is a full and accurate account of the facts.
But, here is something one can confidently accept as a 100 per cent accurate, undeniable, and irrefutable commentary on human nature:

Re: JDB
More churning on the ancient supposed JDB drama. Could I tell stories? Absolutely. Would the stories be accurate and true? Only if you want them to be. Would the stories be exaggerated and embellished? You'd never know, unless you were there. Would you feel smug and morally superior? Almost certainl...

In this case, JDB's lucky to have died, so that Christians will no longer have to kill their wounded.

Re: JDB
This not just reading the Bible differently. when I learned what happened it left a bad taste in my mouth. I even wonder if Greg has the same inclinations as they were so close by marriage. "What happened"? What did happen? The only difference between those in the spotlight and those who are not is...

Re: JDB
JDB was not of this world. My memories of JDB are of his impish smile, gregarious nature, creative style, and funny slogans. He used to refer to people as "Doctor" or "you genius", etc. About the keyboard part at end of Chameleon, he remarked, "That's where the chameleon died." JDB was very encoura...

Re: Greg X Volz New Website & Possible Classic Petra Revamp.
I never would have thought that the label came up with the 'employee' concept; thanks for clearing that up. I never thought so either, until a recent meeting with an old friend whom I'd not seen in 33 years, who told me where the concept originated. The old friend related much inside information wh...

Gee, all those names in the credits of people I used to know. I feel so left out.
Maybe I missed my "calling", or maybe there never was a "calling". I'm so confused.

Re: Greg X Volz New Website & Possible Classic Petra Revamp.
From what I understand, everyone else in the band was simply an "employee" (including Greg X. Volz's first stint with Petra). 'Twould be nice if our friend, John Slick, could chime in on this topic, that is if he's still kicking around The Petra Zone. The employee concept was proposed by Starsong m...

Re: A Conversation with John Slick
Who would have thought that on that album, the actual hidden part was in More Power To Ya, not Judas Kiss (which wasn't exactly hidden). I listened to that bridge 5 or 6 times on the way to work. I hear the piano part, he sawtooth synth part, but not the doxology. Granted, my windows were down, but...

Re: A Conversation with John Slick
A couple months late to the party, but just wanted to say: MPTA and NOTW have been in constant rotation, never leaving my car since I got wheels in 87 or so. (Can't say that about much CCM from 83 time frame) Love both albums in their entirety, but in the last couple years, Not By Sight has gone fr...
