Re: Double Take
Double Take was very bad timing. When I heard about the concept of the record I didn't believe it. When I heard the record I still found it hard to believe. Had they really run out of ideas? I must admit that some of it is better than I thought at first though.

Re: New Record: Real Live Drum Sounds
Not surprising that the new albums will feature Louie exclusively. That was always a sore point with him during his time with Petra, and I can't imagine he would have come back if it was going to be any other way. Mountain Man I was rather surprised when I heard he didn't play real drums on the rec...

Re: Petra's second best guitar player
I agree with you Enosh: "Petes all over but not in a good way." He is trying to do too much at a time and in one song. Sometimes a bit bluesy, at other times he's trying to be more of a hardrocker, but it's all a bit cofusing. His behavior on stage has got nothing to do with the sound, but it looks ...

Petra's second best guitar player
I guess 99 % of you will say that Bob Hartman was/is Petra's best guitar player but I might be wrong. At least that's my oppinion. But who was the second best? It's hard to find the answer to that question, since I really don't know who played what on the records after Bob left the road. E.g. I don'...

Re: 97-2000 lineup
Well... I'm not too impressed either. It's not only that they aren't very good musicians. They look rather stupid being that focused on moving and jumping around that fast. It's not proportional with the rythm of the song. Looking back it's always easy too see what should have been done otherwise, b...

Petra's musical influences
I've always wondered who Petra's musical influences were. There is a clips about this on John Schlitt's homepage: http://www.johnwschlitt.com/fans/video3.htm The presentation of the clip says: "Every band has musical influences. Even Petra!" Now my problem is that something appears to be wrong with ...

Re: John Slick
Hi Daniel
I believe you're right. I just made some further research and when I went back to the forum to write what I had found, you had already found it. As far as I can see, it is very likely that it is him.

Re: John Slick
Hi Brent Thank you for some very interesting posts at the zone. I wonder why you don't link to any of Slicks writings on Youtube. Now that you've mentioned that it exists and told about his thoughts about the old stuff I guess a lot of people would like to read it. It's not that easy to find. While ...

I must admit that I don't worry too much about it. If you don't want to watch, don't click. Ther's bunnies all over the internet anyway so if it scares you, you might as well sell your computer or disconnect it to the internet. Leaving the zone until the problem is solved would be at bit overreactin...

They should have called themselves Hartmann/Schlitt if you ask me. The thing about the name Petra is that it's been used for way to long and no one knows what to associate with it. We all know that many members have been a part of the project, so I would have found it interesting if they could get a...

Videos on youtube
I find it strange how there seems to be so few videos or photos floating about from any tours in the Unseen Power/Wakeup Call era. (Maybe Trodlan can correct me on this?!) There are plenty before and plenty after - but my understanding was that these were two of their biggest budget tours. I'd love...

Actually, the scene DID change. Christian radio and label management had changed. Christian radio was growing, because of format changes and catering to the female and/or younger audience. If you go back and investigate the styles and production of the top 40 Christian songs during the No Doubt and...

It really is a moot point, because Petra could NOT remain "hard" rock. Petra had to change with the trends in music and fashion or get kicked to the curb. Unfortunately they did not have the people with the right money, brains and convictions behind them to push them to the next evolutionary level....
