Roll Call: TBN show

Just thought I would find out who else from the Zone will be attending the TBN show taping in Hendersonville, TN. My wife and I are going to be driving down from Indianapolis bright and early on Saturday morning. Maybe some of us Petheads can hook up down in TN!!!

Re: Too Big To Fail! CRANK IT UP!

HOLY CRAP!!!! Finally got around to listening to Too Big to Fail...totally get the Wake Up Call connection...it definitely has that vibe. Man...makes me want to tell them to quit re-recording the hits and just concentrate on writing us a whole albums of stuff like that!!! Wow! I think that maybe wit...

Re: Classic Petra Blog Mentions John Schlitt

In defense of Arnel...I actually think that in some respects he is a better singer than Perry (I know, blasphemy). Certainly, he is more versatile in his voice...although, as was stated above, without Perry, nobody would even care who was singing for Journey. I totally agree that the comparison is j...

Re: TBN Show Promotion

BriGuyPEI, I know absolutely nothing about why the creator of the facebook page isn't on this board. But, I sure could give a few reasons. I've been a member of the Petra Zone from 2 or 3 incarnations ago or more, near its very beginnings...it's been so long I can't really remember (ah, the joy of o...

Re: Essential CCM Albums

Petra - Beat the System (it brought me to faith) WhiteHeart - Freedom Keith Green - Jesus Commands Us to Go! Rich Mullins - The Jesus Record Third Day - Third Day Of course, there are many more great albums that could be on that list as well. Some more I thought of: Petra - Beyond Belief, Ashley Cle...

Re: John Schlitt in Mooresville Indiana

Thats just a short (about 40 minutes or so) drive from where I live. I am supposed to be doing a Cub Scout Camp that week, but I might be able to sneak away for a few hours. Would love to see John in a live setting again.

Re: SB 1070

I live in Indiana...not a state with a particular problem with illegal border crossings. So, maybe I don't have a personal stake in this...but it seems to me that the only one in this discussion who has approached reasonableness is Manny. I absolutely cringe when I see nationalistic interests get ti...

Re: Unfit for Swine

I'm seriously hoping that John's next album is rocking out of the gate! I liked "The Grafting," but I happen to like it when John rocks out more! I know what John means when he talks about getting older and his audience mellowing...but IMO that only goes so far. His voice is just eminently suitable ...

Re: All I can say is WOW

Just a couple of observations from those two videos. 1) The absence of either Paul or Louie is immediately obvious to anyone familiar with the band. I too have always love the groove that Louie captured in a live setting, but also felt that Paul did a good job of holding down some serious groove whi...

Re: Unfit for Swine

I actually thought that "Unfit" was the sort of music that Petra should have been doing rather than going the bland (IMO) AC they seemed to attempt. Years later, my opinion hasn't changed. When the lead singer's solo stuff rocks harder than the music his band is putting out, it's a problem...particu...

For sure "Clean" and "It is Finished." Those two songs were largely responsible for leading me to faith in Jesus Christ!

Re: Any Hills Alive Show Report?

Great interview with John...it is nice to see Petra start to get back some of the respect that was sorely lacking in their last few years. I think that there are so few bands doing the kind of ministry that Petra did that people are beginning to realize what they were missing. Was very cool of him t...
