If it's not possible to see Petra then stay home. No use wasting an evening to see Amy Grant in concert, even if it is free.

I had a similiar dream once. For some odd reason I was on stage with the band filling in for Bob Hartman, and while I can play guitar, I'm not very good. John got really pissed when I kept screwing up the chord progressions and he refused to talk to me back stage. It's very strange the stuff floatin...

While not as strong as the original poster indicated, it's still an unfortunate comment. I think Double Take is one of Petra's most underrated albums and more than deserved its Grammy.

I understand the band's misgivings about capturing this concert on tape, but it would be an absolutely travesty to not have this landmark show recorded for posterity. I mean, this is the first time the original members will have played together on stage in almost 30 years! This is too important to t...

This absolutely has to be taped, and in good quality! I live about 4 hours away from Angola, IN, but with a 3 month old son, there's just no way my wife and I would be able to make it. Perhaps in our pre-child days we would have been crazy enough to hop in the car and make the trip, but not any more...

I was in the Nashville Hardrock Cafe a couple years ago and they definitely had some Petra stuff in it: Bob's guitar from Beat the System, Ronny Cates' bass, a cymbal signed by Louie Weaver, and John Lawry's hand held keyboard.

The most notable thing about this album is that every song on it was written by Bob Hartman. It's a very tight album. 80's rock at its best.

I had the priviledge of seeing this film last night. Frankly, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing. Is it violent? Absolutely, almost right from the start (the film starts with Jesus' arrest), but it's not gratuitous. The violence was shown for what it was, without commentary or e...

I wouldn't count on it. The Gospel Music Association hasn't been too friendly to Petra since their falling out with Word.

Too bad. I was hoping they'd take home another. The fact that they were nominated is still pretty cool.

Well, since executioner opened that can of worms, I must admit, I have not been at all impressed with the testimony of Jars of Clay. The few times I've seen them in concert, they just seemed so focused on themselves. The last time I saw them was at Alive 2003 which is a week long praise and worship ...

Never did much care for Jars of Clay. I could give my reasons but it would probably turn this thread into a flame war.
