Re: BAD Song Lyrics
"Jesus and the California Kid oh what Jesus did, for the California kid (yay a song about the California Kid, a character that NO one knows) What a lame chorus, but this was back when AA was still kinda sorta trying to be a hip hop rock band so we then get lyrics like "One time God became a man and ...

Re: What were your first favorite Christian Artisits?
Petra was the first. I remember my brother coming home from College with he Beyond Belief cassette- it was perfect for the time and sounded as current as the stuff I really liked. From there it was The Newsboys (the early stuff that they won't even sing anymore) Jacob's Trouble, and Tourniquet. Even...

Re: Any Hills Alive Show Report?
Blaming a record label or music store for stealing sounds a little like blaming rape victims for the crime. Sure there might be a couple things that could have gone differently, but ultimately someone decides to do the crime.

Re: Any Hills Alive Show Report?
There have been a few good points made in this thread about what has helped lead to the demise of ccm. Lets not forget how many people are stealing from their favorite artists. For some strange reason there is an entire generation that believes it is perfectly fine to dl an entire album and pay noth...

Re: Best Petra Video
The best looking videos IMO were Sight Unseen and Who's on the Lord's Side. WOTLS is one of my least favorite songs but they spent some money on the music video. SU is a cool song with a really cool video!

How bout Speak to the Sly or Hollow Eyes? The latter has to be one of the saddest Petra songs.

I think that GF and PP2 were both produced by the Elefantes. John sand on PP2.Jonathan wrote:I can see what you're saying. I imagine GF and PP2 will age better than the Elefante stuff.

What if there is a facebook page and a Wikipedia article to back it up? Is it legitimate? No? But it's in the internet!

Re: DeGarmo & Key
The Rock Solid Live album is one of my childhood favorites. I'm always on the lookout for a cd version. It was definitely a rocK album. Back then it sort of reminded me of Bruce Springstein and the E street band. After that album I remember they went pretty ccm, with the likes of "The Pledge" and "G...

Re: most under rated album
Grunge was still very much alive, and besides, Christian music trends tended to be at least a year behind mainstream.

Re: most under rated album
The most under rated for me on the list has to be No Doubt. I think it was the the first tour without a couple key members (Bob and John L?) and the music scene had switched to grunge. There are some great tracks on the album but no one seemed to care anymore. Personally Wake up Call did the most da...

cheesy!
What is so embarassing about the song? I think it makes a good point. You have to remember that it was made in the 90's so music styles were different. I'm well aware of music styles, especially in the 90's, or in the case of Carmen, some strange made up decade where you don;t have to actually sing...

I don't get it. $9.99 is too much for an album? eMusic doesn't pay the artists anything really. Well, I absolutely abhor Itunes and avoid it if at all possible. The main reason is the blasted AAC format. Also, Itunes doesn't really pay the artist much either, especially in the case of Petra who see...

More Petra on emusic
I just checked the Petra offerings on emusic and was pleasantly surprised to see some more albums. Before now they only had Unseen Power, Double Take (groan), and God Fixation. Well now they have added 1974's Petra, Come and Join Us, Beyond Belief, Wake Up Call, the first two Priase albums and more!...
