awesome

I have to admit that I am a total SUCKER for covers when it comes to my favorite songs. The reason being that a good song by a new artist might bring out something I had not heard before. It also helps me to decide if the song is so good that some one else could make it sound good too. Thanks for re...

one more way

Easy and quick way to get Petra in your phone! I have used a web site called www.mobile17.com. You upload whatever tune you want to them (mp3,WMV) and then they will send it to your phone number in a text or picture message. There are a couple of ways to do it depending on what type of phone you hav...

thanks for the tips

I just downloaded LDB by Whiteheart (legally of course) and it IS pretty good! I never cared much for WH because they were way too Keyboardy but this song is great. I didn't find the Joan Jett version but her cover of Love Hurts was discovered and I can't stop playing it! Another reason I love this ...

Just go out and buy the DVD- it's only 10 bucks at most stores. Don't wait around for a handout. Participating in an interview doesn't really take much effort unless you are the guy manning the camera, or in the case of the Farewell DVD holding the mic IN FRAME! I seriously don't understand why so m...

There's enough interest in at least Stryper reuniting, relesing a DVD and touring (albeit in smaller venues) cuz they are doing it!

soundscan not so bad

Say what you want about soundscan it is still better than what the industry replaced. They used to count all units sold to stores as a sale- which was grossly innaccurate. You would eventually see stacks of an album, or cassette in the clearance bin ( I remember seeing Winger ... as far as the eye c...

Plain ole rock music sort of taking a back seat to the "punk and grunge" styles was probably the biggest factor in the demise of Petra.

I don't think No Doubt is nearly as bad as Wake Up Call. The sound was a huge step back in terms of production (although Sleeping Giant and Reach out are phenomenal). IMO Midnight Oil should sound tons better. The gutars sound wimpy and the drums are super annoying. Unseen power has some great songs...

I can give my perspective from Houston, TX. I first discovered Petra during the Beyond Belief album. I didn't see them live till after the Unseen Power album. They played the Sam Houston Coliseum with the Newsboys as the opening act. Full house, but after that I don't ever remember them playing in a...

errors galore on Farewell

I noticed the liner notes are chock full of errors from spelling to punctuation. What,s most annoying are the commas. I love the album though!

carmen and petra

The Petra/ Carmen collaboration was not too good. Us, our parents, our teachers... I can't remember the name. The song would have been a 100 times better if there were no Carmen in it! And the video, the band looked silly set up in the halls of the school. I don't think John would be allowed to wear...

what kind of light?

After 5 pages of replies I am left wondering about these last Petra show. Is there a light setup at all or are they just performing with avalable light? I always liked the Petra light show- it was great from 92-98 when I was able to see them. What kind of light show are they using?
