Back to The Street recording dates

I have seen some comments here suggesting that BTTS was recorded (minus vocals) somtime in 85 during the BTS tour. Some even suggesting the songs were meant for Greg. In the DVD of the making of BTTS, John Schlitt gives his son a tour of the apartment where the band was staying. He mentions living a...

Re: Greg on Coloring Song

I meant on the original recording on NSD. It doesn't sound like Greg to me, but obviously who else could it be?

Anything from "The River is Rising". I think that album is a masterpiece.

Re:

also in Disciple after Mark sings "Jesus told me to follow" you can clearly hear someone go "oah" like they just got punched in the well you know.... Maybe Greg was showing Mark how to hit a high note  listen to the song I am serious! I always thought it was the backing vocals repeating the wo...

Disciple is a good song. Mark Kelly has a good voice.
Agree totally! Truly missed Mark's playing and excellent singing when he left. His backing vocals too were superb.

Re: CPR Original Material Album

I would like to hear new CPR material...but from Bob or Greg or both...?....a great example of an older band putting out a killer new release is 2018's Smalltown Poets CD "Say Hello"......it is utterly fantastic!...from a band that was biggest in the mid-90's....great lyrics, great musicianship! (pl...

Re: Best Petra Album of the 80's

"Best" can mean different things. Here is my dilemma. I listened to Petra BEFORE they broke and at the time when Christian rock was blossoming. So, the best for me will mean game changing/we have not had this before/no album could ever make this big of an impact again. For me, it's More Power To Ya...

Ever wonder?

Hey people, I often wonder how 1983 Petra band would have sounded if produced by the Elefantes, and 1990 Petra would have sounded produced by JDB....which would have worked better? Would the great 2nd wind success of the Schlitt era have never occurred? Would the '83 line-up have been considered the...

Re: Louie BTTS

"first hand knowledge that that is Louie on PPTRCO..." Even though first hand Petra member John Lawry told Brent it was sequenced. Chris Mchugh was at WUC sessions for "moral support"??? sounds like an "intervention"....Bob H. "Louie, we need you to come down to the studio..." Louie shows up, the wh...

Re: Louie BTTS

Okay guys, I am willing to "eat it" a little, in the name of peace....could it be that Bannister was looking for a different type of sound/playing from Louie? I am willing to concede if proven wrong. However, I do think WUC's drumming does sound like Chris Mchugh's playing, especially on WhiteHearts...

Re: Louie BTTS

Hi, If you look at the liner notes on WUC, Chris's name is first under "additional contributions"..... I know Louie's style, and I know Chris's style. I know how Louie's drums sound, and I know how Chris's drums sound. Chris has made a big name for himself as a studio player by having a consistent s...

Re: Louie BTTS

I don't mean to come off rude...I HAVE read all the archived stuff...all of it...on the post / thread titled "I know we've been over this before but..." 4/30/04 (check it yourself) Brent said that Louie and John Lawry told him the only record with NO real drums at all was PPTRCO, that John L. did i...

Re: CPR

I am anticipating this cd...I have always been a huge GXV era Petra fan....I want to give these guys a break. We gripe about "not getting anything from Petra" anymore...and then when a classic lineup re-unites, we criticize the choice of songs or sound or production.....I'm just glad some form of Pe...
