I know in recent time Jim Cooper has really changed for the better. He has formed a production company with Tony Palacios(Guardian) and they have been producing and writing music for some up and coming bands. I bought a CD the other day one of their groups and they are really good. Go and take a li...

I've heard that it makes references about homo sexuality being ok. You've "heard" that? I don't believe everything that I hear - and if someone told me that the NIV makes references about "homosexuality being ok", I would first question the source and then check it for myself, ESPECIALLY before mak...

This is a tough one for me, because I love the entire album from start to finish. For me it was a toss-up between "Jekyll & Hyde" and "Test of Time," but "Jekyll & Hyde" got my final vote. I have played "Test of Time" twice as a special with the band at our church in the past year - it was a lot of ...

What was Van Halen's last CD? I bought "Balance" back in 95' but have since lost track of them. I thought the song "Don't Tell Me" off of Balance had some of the greatest guitar work I've ever heard. Van Halen's last full-length album was Van Halen 3 , released in 1998 and featuring ex-Extreme voca...

Until we get to heaven, the members of Petra will have no way of knowing exactly how many people whose lives they have impacted through their music and ministry. I'm certain the members at least somewhat know how much of an influence their music has made on people, and I know they are very grateful ...

Bob did indeed choose the songs, and is also credited as executive producer on the Ultimate Collection . He chose each song because of its significance in Petra history (as someone else already posted) - and we spoke (albeit very briefly) about the compilation backstage, prior to the Petra show for ...

The Praise Collection is not really a "greatest hits" deal... it's a repackaging of previously-released material. In fact, it looks to me like they just took the two original CDs, case and booklet and all, and stuck 'em in a cardboard box. Yes, both CDs are simply repackaged in the new slip case bo...

The PetraMerchandise.com site is up and running now. So far, it has a bunch of the band's CDs (including many of the compilations), the Farewell DVD, and a couple different shirts - the black Farewell Tour t-shirt with the dates/cities, and a womens junior cut t-shirt.

The song "Chicken Tree" was not written by Bob Hartman of Petra (aka Robert M. Hartman). Bob (and his current publishing company, House of Bob Publishing) are affiliated with SESAC, which handles the licensing of his music (like ASCAP and BMI). For example, if someone wanted to record a new version ...

A new website is being assembled with official Petra merchandise. It is not yet finished, so I do not know what all the store will stock. I would imagine that it would have shirts, CDs, and other merchandise that was being sold on the last tour.

The URL is http://www.petramerchandise.com/

Oops!

I received an advance copy of the Star Song/EMI compilation The Ultimate Collection that is released tomorrow, and just now noticed a slight mishap with it. Even though Bob Hartman makes reference to it in his liner notes, and even though the credits reference it as well, Petra Praise: The Rock Crie...

The Ohio DVD? Do you know which show it was? They performed a couple different shows in Ohio during the Farewell Tour - one in Mansfield, another in Grove City, and the third in Youngstown. I was the promoter for the Youngstown show on 11/13/05. If it's the Youngstown show, is there any way that you...

I'll make two simple points. 1. I guess money does buy you everything. 2. We should be happy with being average or not the best. I believe both of these statements go against God's Principles.. Points taken, and agreed with. However, it is difficult to be the "best" at something if you do not have ...

The only "complaints" I had were the two shots of static, and bob's solo being cut. I agree about Bob's solo being truncated - it is unnatural, and you can obviously tell that it was cut, both from the video and the audio soundtrack. I do not know the exact reason why it was truncated, but there sh...
