Re: CPR

Not to take away from John Lawry's contribution to Petra, but I bristle at the notion of referring to him as one of "the ones who started it all" as in the promo video. Really, that would be best used to describe the GHF guys, but in the context of major success, you'd have to be talking about John ...

Re: The Union of Sinners & Saints

Ok, so I finally got this album (yeah, I know). I must say the track I'm liking the most so far is Bittersweet. I haven't seen it mentioned on this thread yet. Maybe because it's basically John, Jason and White Heart (Billy Smiley, Chris McHugh, Anthony Sallee, Brian Wooten, Dann Huff). Really love ...

Re: CPR

Interesting to see some CITAS clips in that promo video. Even more surprising to see John L and Louie in the studio clips during Break Out of the Trance (1:53 - 2:03). I knew that John played on the album (but not on that song) but had never seen Louie's name associated with it. It's probably just a...

Re: CPR

The song that always comes to mind is the pre-written, "Altar Ego" which he nailed during his audition for the band. One could only wonder how Greg would have sounded on that one. The BTTS song that I always "hear" Greg singing is You Are I Am. As for other Schlitt era songs for Greg to sing, I agr...

Re: CPR

Kirk Henderson was also part of a band that would later become King's X with Ty Tabor, Doug Pinnick and Jerry Gaskill.

Re: Swine Tour - 20 years ago today

So apparently "Union" was not the first time John worked with White Heart members. That's John Thorn on bass.

Re: JDB

He based all of this off of HIS INTERPRETATION OF SCRIPTURE. I'm not going to wade into the "was he or wasn't he" debate because I don't know him and haven't really delved a whole lot into the backstory. I don't have much interest in doing so. However I will say this in general: there is a big diff...
