Re: Petra Compete Tour list - help add missing dates.

QUOTED TEXT: This Means War Tour Australia Dec 1987 Brisbane ( Australia) 4th December Festival Hall. END QUOTED TEXT: Are you sure you don't mean Dec 04, 1986? We know Petra played Brisbane Festival Hall on that date. And, also, the band played Nashville, Tennessee, in the United States on Dec 05, ...

Re: Petra - Australia/New Zealand Tour (?) 1988

Michael,

Great info! Do you, by chance, happen to remember the venue for the Sep 14, 1989, Brisbane show?

Petra - Australia/New Zealand Tour (?) 1988

Hi, all, I recently visited a library near Nashville and browsed through several years of old issues of Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) Magazine. In the March 1988 issue, I found the following dates listed for Petra: Sydney (Mar 05) Newcastle (06) Brisbane (07) Hobart (09) Aubrey (10) Melbourne (...

Re: Petra Compete Tour list - help add missing dates.

*** I do have a bit of info on at least the April 7, 1990 Rosemont Horizon appearance. Not sure if anyone here remembers a televangelist who was popular for a time in the late 1980s and early 1990s named Larry Lea; who rose to prominence with a 1986 book on prayer titled "Could You Not Tarry One Hou...

Re: Favorite Petra concert

****
I believe that I have a concert poster from the ENC show. I'll try to get the date for you.
****

I just heard from the folks at Eastern Nazarene College today. The Feb 25, 1997, student newspaper ran an ad for the Mar 15 show there at ENC.

Thanks for the tip. Now we know!

Re: Favorite Petra concert

**** I believe that I have a concert poster from the ENC show. I'll try to get the date for you. The Bangor show was at the Bangor Auditorium, unless the date is in the other post regarding concert history, I probably couldn't tell you the date. Did you attend ENC? **** Given the proximity of Quincy...

Re: Favorite Petra concert

[BEGIN ORIGINAL MESSAGE] No, sorry, I don't remember the opening acts for Bangor. The main thing that I remember from that concert was kids throwing water bottles on the stage in John's direction, which I found incredibly disrespectful. [END ORIGINAL MESSAGE] No worries! Do let me know if you uncove...

Re: "Beat the System" Release Date Controversy

******* Being the @n@l-retentive music collector, I've noticed that there's considerable controversy over which year Beat the System was released: 1984 or 1985. My guess is that the album was recorded in 1984 but not released until 1985. Is that the gist?[/i] ******* I'm VERY late to the party on th...

Re: Petra Concert Listings - CCM Magazine

******* Have you checked my site for tour inserts? Almost every album from Not Of This World onwards included an insert with a touring schedule. Scans are present on my site. I have a few early 80s CCM magazines with touring calendars as well. Email me at petraspective at gmail dot com and I can sen...

Re: Petra Concert Listings - CCM Magazine

**** Hi, Thanks for your input. We do list the show below: 06.27.87 Moncton, NB, Moncton Coliseum (with Bryan Duncan) Could that be the one? **** That would be it. The only thing I did have a BTS bandana from that show, but sadly, it has disappeared. Anyone else having issues with their concert t-sh...

******* Two dates I can add some info: 10.12.05 Ottawa, ON, Dominion Chalmers United Church (cancelled, Bob missed flight) Tickets were honoured at the show the following night in Kingston, and John sang Jekyll & Hyde with the guitarist from the intro band (Bread of Stone?), then did a Q&A with the ...
