After the show, Paul said that Jim (Cooper - producer) said he definitely would put that footage on the DVD. He'd be foolish not to. Video editing is a tricky beast. Editors are often forced to leave their favorite bits on the cutting room floor for a variety of reasons, so even with the guarentee ...

http://img333.imageshack.us/img333/6014/farewell7qx.jpg What I really wanted to do was make the "farewell" look like it had been sculpted from the sand, but my skillz aren't up to snuff. Anyway, I think you get the basic idea. I like the concept because it brings Petra's career full circle. (Thanks...

This live album is great news. My dream album for Petra's final was some sort of renuion project featuring all the past members, and while "Farewell" won't be my dream album, the fact that I'll get to hear at least Greg Volz and John Lawry again is the next best thing.

Re: Re

Third Day did not blast Petra for still being around. They were mad they didnt win that grammy whenb Double Take won, basically saying that the people who voted for the grammys' were out of touch with what was really popular in CCM at the time and that the award was supposed to be for success not a...

Sweet! There's a date in Ohio less than an hour away! I hope it holds because I'd love to see Petra play just one last time.

Neither did Double Take.

Sadly, they never quite recovered from the departure of John James. Sorry, but Peter Furler isn't much of a singer.

I've heard that as well, but other than being bombasic arena-rock anthems, the songs are really nothing alike.

Too bad Petra can't just do like U2 and Grateful Dead and open up their concerts to bootleggers.

I'll still be listening to Petra. They represent over 30 years of musical history and offer a diverse cross-section of rock-n-roll, everything from guitar driven classic rock to hard edged metal. No matter what mood I'm in, there's always a Petra album that will appeal to me.

According to Bob Hartman's website , a good porition of Revival was recorded in his personal studio: "I was so happy to have recorded much of Petra's latest album Revival at my home studio. We did the entire album on Digidesign's ProTools and this was a first for us. The system performed wonderfully...

I love the names he has for them! The Jeckyll & Hyde, the Super S, and the John 3:16.

The Jeckyll & Hyde sells for $1800! Yikes!

I just saw the news this morning. It is a sad day indeed. I discovered Petra in the early-80's, right around the time I started to become interested in rock music, and I will be forever grateful that they kept me away from secular music. My first concert of any kind was a Petra show in Elizabeth, Ne...

As far as albums are concerned, it's easier to list what I don't have, which is Come and Join Us and the original self-titled album (I used to have that one on vinyl but I seem to have misplaced it over the years). As for VHS, I have Beyond Belief, Backstage Pass (Unseen Power), and a bootleg copy o...
