Re: The Coloring Song

USS gets my vote. The medley is fantastic.

Re: CPR

Found the samples. I really liked the over all sound of Judas Kiss. My beef with the song has always been that I wish there would be more to the drumming. No need to keep it so simple, IMO. The rest didn't do anything for me. If you're not going to bring a new sound to the table, new arrangements, n...

Re: Guardian/Whitecross album

I gave this a listen, and then listened to Guardians new album. I like what they did musically. It could have been even better if they had Rex and Tony playing each others stuff and trading off. Sonically I was a little disappointed. Guardian's new album sounds much better. I don't notice any drop o...

Re: Stryper question

Just for interesting perspective. I did the math and found that Michael wrote 84% of the songs on all Stryper albums. It's actually probably slightly higher because I did not eliminate songs that were borrowed from other groups, like Shining Star and Peace of Mind. On the songs that had co-writers, ...

Re: Stryper question

I agree that Oz and especially Robert influence the sound. It's not the same though. I think Brent was getting at the fact that Michael owns the Stryper entity, and the other guys essentially work for him.

Re: Stryper question

Actually, He is Stryper. He writes all the songs, and back when they reformed the band, the other guys agreed to give him full control.

Re: Stryper question

Wow. Sad situation. As far as Michael owning an expensive home, assuming he does, the guy has worked for it. He's a brilliant songwriter and musician. He's put out several solo albums, done projects with other people, played with Boston, etc. It doesn't hurt to have the income from Stryper, but he's...

Re: Unseen Power Review

I'll be the smart dissenter here. :P For whatever reason, I will take Unseen Power all day, every day over Beyond Belief. Maybe it was because I got it as soon as it was out, and was the first among my circle of Christian music listeners to hear. I played it many times over before anyone else heard ...

Re: Burlap to Cashmere

I think the new stuff they've done. There's plenty of clips on youtube. Their first album was great. When they broke up, sliced bread regained it's place as the greatest thing. Their live show was phenomenal. Then again, I'm probably biased. Being a product of New Jersey, I find Steven's Greek, Broo...

Re: John Elefante

Yes, I believe Corridors was a radio hit, at least where I was living at the time. I think Not Just Any Other Day also got a bit of radio play. That's my favorite album of his, besides the original Mastedon stuff. Defying Gravity is a close second. Windows of Heaven has some great songs on it, but i...

Re: Photoshop No Doubt album cover

Pardon my ignorance. Which one is Dave? The guy on the left of John? I think it could be done using Bob from the Wake Up Call pic. Bob is standing in a similar position, with his hands in his pockets, and facing the right direction. I've done a few things like this without Photoshop. Certainly it wo...

Re: Switchfoot

Well, JFH didn't review the Deluxe Edition. Hope Is the Anthem is not the last track. Begin Forever, at #14, is fantastic. JFH poo-pooed Live It Well just a bit, but I think it's one of the best tracks on the album. I can tell they put a lot of production into it, and I love it. The whole disc is re...

Re: Petra, White Heart and the Orlando Terrorist Attack

Just a thought as I read this. It reminded me of something Jon Bon Jovi once said in an interview. He said he had the right, as an American citizen, to participate in political rallies with candidates, but he learned that when it came to Bon Jovi in the context of music, no one wanted to hear his po...

I did see it. I guess it's kind of a big deal. Given their history with the Creation festival and it's founder, I wouldn't be surprised if the festival is trying to get them to appear there. It wouldn't surprise me if they have been trying for years to get them together, especially when the guys hav...

Re: Dogs of Peace

I may have heard a few of their songs in passing, but that's about it. I do like Jimmie Lee though. He produced Whitecross's Unveiled album, which I really liked. He was also the bassist for Michael W.'s Change Your World tour, and he worked with PFR. Some bands are just too good to last. PFR was on...
