Re: Bands and their scripture references

The worst Christian band name was the one of the band who fronted the PA and the buss for Petra's retirement tour, Bread of Stone. Completely unscriptural. Jesus did NOT turn the stones to bread, much to the dismay of the We Are The World producers (who are Jehovah's Witnesses). Jesus was tempted by...

Re: Greg X Volz Solo

At least there was no mention of REO Speedwagon. :). I'm not a fan of selling accomplishments or sins to substantiate or elevate your "word". We are all equally lost and in need of freedom in God's eyes. We are all equally responsible for the crucifixion. I don't have a spectacular testimony. But it...

Re: CPR in Palmer Lake, CO

Ok...how many of you tech guys are cringing like me? Those speakers aren't EVEN covering that room properly because they are mounted on their sides and the horns are sideways. Additionally, it doesn't appear they are using swivel rings, so the eyebolts are incorreclty operasting at 50% of their load...

Re: Favorite Whitecross song (& why)

Love Rex but WC didn't do it for me as a band. Combine that with their poor recording quality, I couldn't really get into them much. That said, I liked King James much, MUCH better. The first album is great. The second album lacked Robert and Tim of Stryper. They didn't contribute to writing, but th...

Re: Stryper video

This is why I consider all music apart from the artist(s). People are people. Saved or lost, people make great music and bad music. Saved or lost, people live decent lives and jacked-up lives. If we idolize "Christian" artists, we do ourselves and them a huge disservice. We WILL be let down at some ...

Dude, Relax and understand...this forum isn't junior high. Posting a link to an article and recalling common knowledge facts isn't being a know-it-all. I posted the link because your post is in the present tense, intimating you had no idea she passed. Not everything I post is anti-you. You, my broth...

Re: Which CCR Musician would you meet?

None. They are people just like you and me. Some of the ones I thought I would like to meet left me wishing I hadn't. They were complete jerks. Some of the ones I have met and or mixed have blown my mind at how humble and transparent they were. The only time I have enjoyed meeting an artist of any s...

Re: CPR is now openly marketing themselves as Classic Petra

Right on topic, Doug was on Eddie Trunk's Trunknation show with George Lynch this week. They were pushing their album from KXM (named after the three bands they are known for: Korn, KingsX and Lunch Mob). I asked Doug if he played more with Phil and if there were any other tracks out there that he a...

Re: The Union Of Sinners And Saints new project

There is no money selling albums. The current trend is to release singles as you record them to keep the interest up. A good single creates as much interest short term as one album. It's just how things are now. This band will never rake in the money. There isn't enough interest from people with mon...

Re: What if??? - The 2010 Classic Petra reunion 84', 85' lineup

Wow, what an old thread and fun read. It was nice interacting with John Slick. I had a conversation with him on the phone once or twice after this thread. We were supposed to hook up for lunch when I was in Nashville but I emailed instead of called. Still kicking myself over that missed opportunity....
