Re: CPR

Pied Piper, I agree with you. The Classic Petra remakes were good. I liked the mix of instruments better especially with the songs around the Beat the System era. They still had keyboards but they didn't dominate the sound like the originals. Every instrument blended well. Every instrument had equal...

Re: CPR

I'm excited to hear the finished product although I don't particularly care about the entire song list. I could do without "For Annie" and "Dream On." There. I said it. Anyway, I agree with the potential and talent these five guys have. Still, as a lover of older music and performers, generally I do...

Re: CPR

I'd love to hear a modern version of "Hollow Eyes." Ronny could play Mark's synth part on bass. Also, I wonder if they would change any of the lyrics to fit anything going on in 2017. I'm really not thrilled about "Dream On," but, yet again, just my opinion. Other than that, "Road to Zion" and "Stan...

Re: CPR

So far I believe seven of the new songs are "Judas' Kiss," "It Is Finished," "Dream On," "All Over Me," "Praise Ye The Lord," "Not Of This World," and "For Annie." It's not a bad list. There are some on this list I'd replace with others, so hopefully the rest of the album will surprise me. That's ju...

Re: CPR

First of all, Ronny Cates wished me a happy birthday today. Yay! Second, I totally forgot what this thread was about, and I'm the one who started it. I think I was just trying to find out any info about CPR because, from what I've read over the years, some of you have the inside scoop. I'm excited t...

Re: CPR

I agree with Brent. I lost all interest in Petra after Wake-Up Call. Then again, the entire music landscape changed around that time, not necessarily for the better.

Re: CPR

I hate to not see Bob involved, but it is what it is. Other Volz Petra songs I'd like to hear remade: Judas' Kiss Not by Sight Stand Up Blinded Eyes Not of This World It Is Finished I'd like to hear what Hollow Eyes might sound like if written and recorded today. Another Schlitt era song I'd like to...

Re: CPR

I can think of quite a few Schlitt-era songs I'd like to hear Volz sing. Counsel of the Holy I Am On The Rock Beyond Belief Sight Unseen Even though there are two versions of God Gave Rock N Roll To You, I'd like to hear a modern version just to see what route they would go. I love the original, but...

Re: CPR

Mark Kelly is an amazing bass player. When they did the DVD documentary, I enjoyed hearing things from his perspective since he was with Petra as they were breaking through and dealing with the negative criticism of the time. Ronny Cates is an amazing bass player. I love his energy. Even without all...

Re: CPR

As a bass player, I like both Mark and Ronny. Two distinct styles for two distinct Petra groups. I am intrigued to hear what songs this group will do considering Greg never recorded with the Ronny, John L., Louie group. Plus, there's no Bob. I know I'll get "hate" from some, but I hope it's better t...

CPR

I'm not sure if I did this correctly. I attached a picture I saw from a Ronny Cates Facebook post he shared of a Greg X. Volz Facebook post. Did that make sense? I'm tired and on cold medicine. Anyway, CPR? Ronny sharing a Greg post? Any ideas?

@BriGuyPEI

Let us not forget Slaughter and Winger along with Giuffria and Bonham (Jason Bonham's band).

Re: Greg X Volz New Website & Possible Classic Petra Revamp.

I also agree. I love the lineup (depending on the guitarist), but they need to do like Schlitt and the Whiteheart boys and come up with a new name for this project.
