Trent Thomason

Post by BriGuyPEI » Wed Mar 30, 2005 7:28 pm

I have a question that maybe someone can answer for me. Did Trent Thomason ever actually play a single note as a member of Petra? I remember around the time Double Take was recorded, Kevin Brandow was in and out and in again. I know Trent is listed as a member on Double Take, but the liner notes also have keyboards by Larry Hall. Kind of like how David Lichens was listed as a band member for No Doubt even though Bob recorded all the guitar parts before David joined. So I'm doubting that Trent played on Double Take. So part two of the question is: did Trent ever play live with Petra? Or did they go right from Kevin Part II to Bryce Bell? Did anyone here see Petra with Trent in the lineup?

On a similar note, Bob is credited with playing at least some guitars on every Petra album except Double Take. Even while he was "not an active member" of Petra. I wonder how much of the guitar work on those albums is Bob. For all I know, maybe David Lichens never played on an album either. I'm guessing that Pete Orta did, but it's possible that all the guitars on God Fixation and Double Take were either Bob (on GF only), Brian Wooten, or George Marinelli.

Does anyone know who played how much of what, if anything at all?

Trent did indeed play live, and there are some pics here.

Can't answer any of your other questions, but I'm pretty sure Dave Lichens was with the band for a while.

I'm pretty sure Trent actually did track some keyboard parts on Double Take. Or you could always email him and ask him yourself!
