Ok after giving it much thought I agree Bob is the best vocalist. Louie would be runner up.

I mean if ya really want to fight about whose better. Paul is better than Louie on the Drums. I'm a drummer I can say it with "Strong Conviction” :)

So the Dream Team under the idea that it would be the best musicians out of any era.

For me it goes

1. Greg X Volz - Vocals
2. Bob (the man) Hartman – Guitars
3. Ronny Cates – Bass
4. John Lawry - Keyboard
5. Paul Simmons - Drums

Better yet, let's just clone Bob over and over and make a 30 piece Rock Guitar Symphony and everyone will be happy.

I also want to state that, I have been a member on here for a few years now, and I never heard or read the name "Classic Petra" until it was introduced by Classic Petra themselves early this year. So I think we all need to just sit back put on your favorite petra album and open a soda of your choice and just relax.....it's all good........no one can hurt you..............think of Bob.................think of that time, you know.......that one, yeah that's it...........................aaaaaaahhhhh now we're relaxed.

Ok, I have an idea

1. John Schlitt - Vocals
2. John DeGroff - Bass
3. John Slick - Keyboards/Strings
4. John Lawry - Keyboards/Drum Machine/Keyboard Guitar

We'll call the band "THE GOSPEL OF JOHN"

Now Sue, is John happy about his co-Petra alumni and what God has in store for them, like a good man of God should?
Ouch. Can we stop pouring salt into raw wounds?

But Bakersfield, shouldn't that be called the Johnny Band? Oh wait, that's been used already.

Why so much fear to say or confirm that John is cool with it and gave it his blessing if it Really happened? That's all we could expect between Christians.

This line of questioning is completely unproductive and unfair to both John and Classic Petra. Sue already said John was cool with it. She's friends with John. And, frankly, I'm not sure why we should care about John's feelings, one way or the other. That's between him and his conscience, God and Bob (not necessarily in that order). So let it go.

At this point, you are doing nothing but sowing dissension about this topic. Please stop.

That's one of the problems with christianity today. We sugar coat everything, and try to be so politically correct that nothing is black or white anymore. Call it like it is, and let's stop ben hypocrites.

Felipe, you just don't get it do you? Why don't you be a man of God and listen to what people are saying here? It has been confirmed John doesn't have a problem with this, did you not read the posts? Why are you not satisfied with that? You are WRONG to continue with this.

Ok. Now we get personal. Hey shell, are you on John's payroll too? What's the purpose of this thread anyway?

I always get confused when people talk about Petra's "Dream Team" line-up. I have to ask, "Do you mean Volz, Hartman, Kelly, Slick, and Weaver, or Schlitt, Hartman, Cates, Lawry, and Weaver?"

"The Dream Team" can mean different things to different people, but I was under the impression it just refers to the time between 1986-1993 or 94 when their most successful albums came out. Everyone has their favorite Petra line up, and they all made their contributions. I've always been able to find something to like about each line up, I just prefer some more than others. It's a matter of preference.

Yeah that's right everyone picks their own dream team, just happen 86-94 was called that, at the end the day does it matter not really. I guess for some Classic Petra might be 86-94... it's all ones perspective or is that petraspective?
