Yes, but so do record companies. You have to look at the big picture when you deal with iTunes...the market is huge and the potential for sales is so much larger than just the zone, word of mouth and a website with absolutely no SEO. What does iTunes take like 30%...small price for an investment. Look at these guys developing the apps...making huge money and Apple is make a lot of money too. I understand that you want Petra to make more money and I'm with you on that, but through less volume is really not a great way to do it.Daniel wrote:itunes get a big cut.petrabandca wrote:Really, why's that?rexreed wrote:If given the choice between purchasing from Itunes or the artist I'll choose the artist 10 out of 10 times.
If I were trying to sell my own music and didn't have a label I'd be starting with iTunes...it takes money to make money!
Followed by a YouTube channel, Facebook page, MySpace page, Twitter account and a properly designed website...sorry but Flash is DEAD!
All I've dished out for there is a cut to iTunes (the distributor) and a professional website. I'm my own label and the rest is passive income.
This is simply my opinion...I respect your views on iTunes. I just like to read my own typing
