Lead break on Let Everything.....

Post by jeremywg » Fri Nov 19, 2010 11:37 am

Is it just me or is the lead break on bttr's "Let Everything that has Breath" hard to listen to. It sounds strange and wrong to me. Like a Guitar trying to play a keyboard part or something. Maybe it will grow on me. Any Opinions?

I was playing that on my guitar last night. Always loved that intro for some reason. I like it.

I love the intro and the song but the break towards the end is just bugging me. Maybe I'm just so used to the original.

Okay, I hear what you're saying now. A little strange, yes... but very impressive that Bob actually pulled that off. As if I already didn't think his playing was awesome. Bob Hartman is the master!

Actually, though I may be wrong, but I believe that's John Lawry on a very cool sounding keyboard. I also think he may have done the second part of the solo on Angel of Light. Something about the style and the sound of it is making me think this.

This is what I have been saying. The original cut of Angel of Light from Never Say Die, has a Guitar Solo and a Keyboard Solo, it's the same on the new cut. If you remember on CITAS on "The Race" John L plays an electric guitar sound on his keyboard. John is playing electric guitar sounds on his keyboard on Angel of Light and Let Everything That Hath Breath on BTTR as well.

If it is in fact john and not bob then its pretty cool. It just sounded a bit sloppy for Bob on a guitar.

If they play those songs on Saturday I guess we'll find out for sure.

It is in fact Mr. John Lawry on the keytar. Mystery solved.

I can't believe none of you could tell on the new album. John's rock guitar keyboard sound has always sounded very different from Bob's guitar, it has that John L sound to it that he's known for. Plus I can't believe you couldn't tell his playing.

I'm ashamed...... very ashamed  On the cd it's very obvious, but the mp3 is deceiving to me. Everything just sounds blurry on mp3. But without excuse..... I should have known.
