I guess that's a joke, but I don't get it...

It's a joke in poor taste. Dredging up things that are best left behind us. Dead horse kind of material. Let's leave it alone.

Somebody needs to teach these artists how to rip a proper MP3 when they offer them for download. For the average listener*, a .wav compressed with "lame --preset standard" will be indistinguishable from the source file, but most downloads are encoded at an ear-abusing 192k

* I said average listener, so all you Nashville audio techs can go stuff it!

If there's anything we do well here (outside of thoughtful, civil conversation, that is), it's put the past in the past and leave dead horses alone.

This guy didn't leave the dead horse alone.... he sat on it. Enjoy the famous 'dead horse photo' straight from Sheboygan, WI.

All I'm saying is that it took a lot of effort to repair some of the broken bridges here, so let's not make light of it now, by taking cheap shots. Comments like that simply are not respectful. They may be funny to some, but they could be hurtful to others.

Maybe, but it's Jonathan... I thoroughly appreciate the way in which Jonathan is always able to make a humorous comment which makes us all realize that life is not always as serious as we believe it to be.

But it does so at the expense of the people who are the butt of the joke. Making fun of people isn't cool no matter who you are, especially in light of what this board has just come through. We need to be sensitive to that.

PM we go through that type of stuff a lot. I can remember at the old domain we went through some down right snot blowing needless stuff. Thing about it, even though we shouldn't act the way we do, we at least come through it and still love each other in Christ. If anyone of us has hate in their heart for someone here then they need to get it taken care of. But I do agree that we need to watch how we word things and watch our anger, watch how we deal with things. We are all on the same side after all.

Joking tends to make someone the butt of a joke by it's very nature. The issue is whether it's malicious or not. I've never known Jonathan to be malicious.

Looks like I missed out on the fireworks, because I have no idea what incident you folks are referring to.
