Petra: A Call To Unity
Petra: A Call To Unity
As a Petra fan for 30 years I would like to offer some thoughts here:
I believe that we should all be thankful that we have Petra, Classic Petra, John, Greg, Bob and all the other active members of the Petra family around to enjoy their music and ministry. What a great time to be alive! We can all enjoy these new Classic Petra tunes, go see Petra in concert, buy a John Schlitt solo album or see John in concert. Many options, great choices and everyone wins. As brothers and sisters in Christ we must unite and support both incarnations of Petra and their respective members as they are doing what they believe God has willed them to do. Don't forget the sacred trust in which we have been commissioned to share with this world and go forth and rock. Christ Is King! - Bishop

I can get on board with this. Doesn't matter who's doing what... just enjoy the fact that there is a band to talk about again in whatever incarnation it's in.

Are any dates posted anywhere? I see nothing at the ClassicPetra website.
Thanks!

Has anyone got a cost of how much it is to get Classic to play in the US?

There are a few festivals out there that are bringing them in, but other than that no confirm dates as of yet. I'm sure after the first of the year we will start seeing some rolling in. I wouldn't expect any dates before March though.

Re: Classic Petra tour dates?
I've talked to a promoter trying to book them in the Dallas area and he said they were asking 28k for a 65-70 minute show including talk. They would only be playing songs off of BTTR and would have a one or two testimonies in the show. Some around here seems to think that is a low number but this promoter says it is awful high with their current status and length of show. He says their market value right now is around 15k-17k per show with what they want to do.Daniel wrote:http://www.kingdombound.org/news/2010/1 ... confirmed/Tutor23 wrote:Are any dates posted anywhere? Re: Classic Petra tour dates?
I think they need to do it for less until they have the set real tight, and then demand will ramp up and they might get 28K per show. If they don't use the BTS stage it should be cheaper for the guys to tour.executioner wrote:I've talked to a promoter trying to book them in the Dallas area and he said they were asking 28k for a 65-70 minute show including talk. Re: Petra: A Call To Unity
They will be in the studio recording the second CD at this point. Maybe more dates will show up once that one is released in the Spring. The more they re-record and practice playing live, the better for a truly awesome road show imo.executioner wrote:I'm sure after the first of the year we will start seeing some rolling in.
