Backing tracks
Hey guys, I know there were some backing tracks for Petra songs released in the '80s and '90s (Star Song's "Rock Trax" series had several, and some of the radio singles from the '90s Word albums...including several from DoubleFake.)
I bought the tape of the track for "Whole World" and it is LONG since gone; loaned out to someone, or left at a church somewhere, or something; I don't have a clue. I downloaded an MP3 from a file service probably a decade ago, but it skips badly, and the tape machine was not running at any kind of constant speed either. It's unusable.
Does anyone have the track for "Whole World" somewhere? I have a service coming up and I'm preaching about the grace of God, and the song fits the theme perfectly. Alternately, is it commercially available anywhere? I know the Star Song stuff is pretty difficult to come by these days.
Thanks!
josh

Here's Whole World: http://www.mediafire.com/?6d43y3kqxfo82qh
Could be that it's the same one you grabbed. I downloaded this as well somewhere.
I have loads more tracks available digitally, so let me know if you need something else.
At my site there's a list of all the tracks that have been released. I guess I have about just over half of them on original cassette and trodland converted most of them to .mp3 for me.

Re: Backing tracks
thanks, p-freak, but that one skips too, and sounds like it's in the same places. Not the exact same download, as they're EQ'ed differently, but probably the same source material.
Unfortunately, some of the skips are in places that don't repeat, so even though I'm pretty handy with an audio editor, I'm stumped as to how to fix it.
I've got about a week before the service that I want to use this at, so if something else turns up between now and then, I'll give it a go.
I've looked at your list before (it came up when I was searching for Fire by Nite videos, as I'm trying to finish out my collection of them.) Quite impressive.

Re: Backing tracks
I haven't had my hand on this track. It was converted by someone else...don't know who.
I got this track from Pieter too. My track skips too.

Re: Backing tracks
Thanks, guys...I'll keep an eye (and ear) out for it. Maybe next time I'm in Branson, MO.
(For those of you outside the US, Branson is billed as the "Country Music Show Capital of the World"; in a lot of ways, it's like a family-friendly version of Vegas. There are a LOT of different music shows there, in all different styles. People will come to town to try to get a gig in a show, and they'll wind up singing in some little club somewhere. I have found a LOT of accompaniment tracks for different songs in thrift stores around there.)

As far as I know there is no backing track for Not Of This World.
More Power To Ya can be downloaded here:

Not Terje's rip, so I'm not sure about the quality. I found this somewhere online.
