Looking for concert date from many moons ago...
I only saw Petra once and it was long ago, can anyone help me find the date?
It was at Six Flags outside of St. Louis and it was shortly after Beyond Belief was released. I remember they had multiple shows that day (2, I believe). I saw the second (last?) show of the day which was cut short due to bad weather (outdoor concert).
I remember riding on the train that goes around the park during the previous show. As it passed behind the stage area they were playing "Prayer" and the bass was incredible, I have never heard anything so impressive before or since.
Beyond Belief was, and is, a very special album to me and I am missing what is to me is "Classic" Petra:
Bob Hartman – Guitar
Louie Weaver – Drums
John Lawry – Keyboards
John Schlitt – Lead vocals
Ronny Cates – Bass
Thanks to the guys for being so much apart of my early Christian life, we (my wife and I) played "Love" during our wedding.
And thanks to any and all who can help!
Blessings,
wardroutt

Welcome to the zone!
I looked through some tour calendars. These two mention a St. Louis date on November 18th 1990:

Would that be the one? Beyond Belief was released on June 20th 1990.

Thanks for your efforts, but I do not think this is the correct date. If memory serves, and it sometimes dosen't, it was hot out. I think it was late spring/summer/early fall.
That far into November would be cooler than I remember it being. Maybe the following year??
Thanks again,
Wardroutt

I saw that tour three times and the set list for each show was pretty much the same except for a few songs. One show they didn't do an encore which left out Creed and Seen and Not Heard which they played at the other two.

Ok, Six Flags...anyone remember those lovely little frozen cherry flavored treats called "Pink Things" MAAAAAAN I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE those things. We went to SF over TX during OU vs TX weekend and every pic I am in shows me holding one. If anyone knows if those are still made and where I can get some, I will be one happy camper.

November 18, 1990 was at the Fox Theater... I was there.
Petra came to Six Flags in 1988 and 89 in April (maybe 90, too, but not the beyond belief tour). It would have been sometime in 1991.
September 30th, 1991, was the last beyond belief concert, I think (in Springfield, IL).
I'd be surprised if they weren't at Agape in May of '91. Ok, let me think. I saw Beyond Belief 4x...
Fox (11/18/1990)
two dates in between... probably Agape in May 1991
Springfield, IL (9/30/91)

Found it... August 31, 1991!

FWIW - that photo also confirms the Agape date (May 4).

I was at that concert at the Fox Theater. I actually flew from NJ to St louis to see that concert. Got to meet Louie before the concert when he was getting off the tour bus. Had my picture taken with him.bjh wrote:November 18, 1990 was at the Fox Theater... I was there.

You're quite welcome.
Thankfully, the Battle Plan photos are up on the John Schlitt site. That made the date a lot easier to track down.
God bless!
