Why don't you right that wrong for us, Brent! I'd love to hear it - I loved the PDC stuff John did with y'all!
When I say that song is hard, I mean SICK HARD. I turned Marco loose and he went for it. When I played it for some radio people (secular) they wanted to help me get it out. I was going to finish mixing and mastering the week after I got Kate off to school.
The day we left, our house was hit by lightning. It pretty much wiped out everything. The upside is that I got some new killer TVs and such. The downside is, I had some severe damage done to the Macs and drives. The big blessing was since I was taking my oldest back to college that day, she was not in the room where the lightning entered the house. She would have been severely injured, maybe killed. So, it was all a blessing at the end of the day.

Oh my gosh Brent! I'm so sorry to hear that! Thankfully your daughter wasn't there though.
I for one was stoked to see the new video from John. Here's to hoping the download is ready for my ears to consume it with hot cocoa in front of the Christmas tree.
I know this isn't going to make you feel any better but please tell me that since then you've installed a backup software. Try Mozy online backup. It can keep that from happening again. The stuff you gave to radio isn't still around on CD or something? Sorry about your losses.

AND... if you're tired of Petra's "LOVE" for weddings and such --
Maybe you weren't talking about this, but in that interview I think the interviewer was referring to the Paul Stuckey song "There is Love" which has been used in so many weddings for years, it's also called The Wedding Song. Who could ever get tired of Petra's "Love?" Not me! Still looking forward to the one from John though!

I have always backed up...on other drives....which were zapped (Kuh-rap!). Trying to back up 10TB on DVD or BR was not an option. In the old days I used Mezzo (streaming to Sony AIT2 drives). Those days are gone, thank the Lord.
All of the new Macs are using Time Machine, almost non-stop. When the Thunderbolt drives hit (which I will have to wait for the ones that I want, because there is a shortage of parts from Japan due to the tsunami), I will do a RAID array. Isn't technology awesome? 4TB in the palm of my hand at PCI bus speed.
I cannot use cloud based back-up services, because of data loss issues in ProTools. The size of the files is another thing. The likelihood of us taking another hit is nil, so I will probably be ok with redundant drive back ups.
