Classic Petra in Tulsa
Classic Petra in Tulsa
I heard from several people that the Tulsa show was OFF THE HOOK GOOD. The only drag was that the sponsoring radio station had too much time dedicated to sponsoring businesses in between bands. Most of the groups played only a handful of songs. Petra played for about two hours. Wish I could of gone.

Yes, it was the best Petra concert I have ever been too!!! They had the stage setup and an amazing light show. I have never seen anything like that before, I can now die a happy man.
I am glad I live in Oklahoma, and have someone living here that has deep pockets.
If I could figure out how to post pictures and video on here I would, but for some reason I can't figure out how to do it. What I am doing wrong.
Also I recorded the entire concert in HD.
Quick story. Me and my wife were getting our tickets at the will call window, and someone went to the window next to us. I look over and I am standing 2 feet away from Greg X Volz. So I lean over and said something stupid about how he is in the band and has to go to the will call window for tickets, and he looks up and said something like, yeah can you believe it. It turns out he was signing for tickets for his daughters, so I got to sign the same sheet of paper as GXV.
I still can not believe I was that close to Greg and said something so stupid.

One thing I did learn from recording the concert, I will never be a singer, or my wife for that matter. We didn't sing much, but man I didn't know I sang so flat. LOL

That's nothing. First time I met John on the stage of the Brady Theater, before our band opened for them, I said something like, "I really like your voice. You sing in a range we can all sing along with." I meant it as a compliment. It took me a bit to explain to him that it's hard to singe Greg Volz songs and not sound out of place. John had rock voice that I didn't feel so out of place singing along with, and longed to sound like. It was a deep hole.

I crashed the back stage area at a Jacob's Trouble (they played early at a festival that DC talk was headlining) concert and the band was very receptive to me and my friends. I screwed up as we were leaving by saying" I can't wait till you guys get big like DC Talk." Jerry Davison, under his breath said "Neither can we..." oops JT would go on to never record another album...

I can't believe it you ruined their career. I remember seeing them in Euless, Tx with Hokus Pick Maneuver. JT was really good live, but HPM was really weird and not my thing.
