Re: This one says it all.
Singles were records too.... back in the day. Remember the smaller 45s?

Well, yeah, but I don't know anybody who referred to them as records. They called them "singles". On the other hand, "record" and "album" were often used interchangeably.

Those 20-somethings who aren't old enough to remember LPs, 45s or 8 track tapes don't know what they've missed...
Seriously, I do remember the days before computers, cell phones and cable T.V., and I did manage. I need my computer for my job, so I couldn't really give that up easily (and I would curl up and die if I couldn't e-mail people or have Facebook) but I could get by fine without cable. That would be the first thing to go if it should ever become necessary to cut back. I could manage without my cell phone if I had to, but it has been helpful a few times when I've had car trouble, so I wouldn't give it up unless I absolutely had to. Sure, technology is great, it makes things more convenient. It also makes us pretty dependent in some ways too.
It also makes me jealous of the youngsters who were practically born in front of computers and have better computer skills than I do...And my nieces and nephews are part of that group. Tech savvy punks.![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

The good ol' days when you'd steal milk crates for your album collection.Shell wrote:Those 20-somethings who aren't old enough to remember LPs, 45s or 8 track tapes don't know what they've missed...

Then the dairy industry shrunk the size of the crates so the albums would no longer fit properly cause everybody was stealing them...
