A request from the person who planned the Con to not post videos should be respected folks...Just saying. They may not want videos on message boards and/or all over the Internet for whatever reason at this point. I'm sure enough people got videos or pictures there doesn't have to be a lot of stuff here to enjoy them. There is stuff on Facebook for those who have Facebook accounts. There is probably stuff on YouTube also; just about everything ends up on YouTube sooner or later.

So the topic was deleted because there was one video link that shouldn't be there? That's rather rigorous.

I'm glad I managed to download the video that was posted of the new song before it was taken down. If they don't want the new song to be posted online before they release it, they shouldn't play it live before July 30th. That's the only way to prevent this.

It's very obliging of Ron to take down the video, but what if someone who went to the shows in June would've posted a video of the song? No control over that. Besides, wouldn't it be possible to use live / acoustic performances to create some excitement towards the release of the single? I assume the acoustic version they did at PC4 is quite different from the album version, so where's the harm in that?

You are right, the thread was solid and should not have been deleted entirely. The phrase "tossing the baby out with the bath water " comes to mind. Unfortunately when it happens there is not much that can be done.

I don't have a problem with the video thread being gone. I didn't get to go because of the distance to travel and would like to see it, but I understand it being taken down, if for no other reason than the promoter has to shell out the bucks to make it happen and as of last week it still wasn't sold out. Not saying that's why it was taken down but I would understand if that was the deal. Also, if Bob wants this to be a surprise download, then all the more reason to take it down. It's their music, they can do with it what they want to do. It's one thing to see a cell phone video of something but a whole other thing to get a hq recording. Just my 2 cents ...
