Have to add to my list now...I have executioner to thank for this...

Fireflight - "The Healing of Harms" (CD) - currently in my car's CD player and 5 songs on my 20 song IPod shortlist.

This CD isn't making a quick exit from my car, either (and there are plenty of groups that I get tired of so quickly...this is NOT one of them).

Ever since the news broke around Michael Tait, ironically, I've been listening to a lot of Newsboys (Tait era). I find the message uplifting despite the messenger.

With Girder, I've been upgrading my physical collection to include things I really liked throughout my life. I then made a usb drive from that material that I've ripped to flac format and here is a list of what's on it:

1. Petra and all variants
2. John Schlitt solo
3. Union of Sinners & Saints.
4. White Heart
5. REZ/Resurrection Band (not a complete collection).
6. Mylon LeFevre & Broken Heart.
7. Stryper (not complete).
8. John Elefante.
9. Vision.
10. Third Day (not complete).
11. Whitecross.
12. Phil Keaggy (not complete).
13. Bloodgood (not complete).
14. Bride (not complete).
15. Kerry Livgren / AD.
16. HALO (not complete).
17. Various Girder Compilations

It's around 1300 tracks on random mode, so it's like having my own radio station. It's awesome!

I decided to add to my Whitecross album collection. Bought the remaining Rex Carrol albums that I didn't own -- Hammer and Nail, Triumphant Return, and High Gear -- so I've been on a Whitecross binge the last few days.

I might buy the non-Rex Carrol albums later, but I always considered him the star of the band, so that's a harder sell.

As the Apostle Paul wrote:

"Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment. What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice."

In the end, we are all imperfect messengers, but it's only the message that matters.

I thought the Unveiled album was fantastic. I love the production on it and I think the songs are killer. That’s one I will go back and listen to if I’m in the mood for some Whitecross and Scott’s voice.

Looks like most of the non-Rex Carrol albums are out of print. I can't find them on any legit download sites, and what I could find on Amazon were ripoffs. $50 for a used CD? Nah, man.

Resurrection band is still one of my favourite Christian classic rock bands

I've stopped listening to Newsboys. Partially because of the sex scandal and also due to the music not being so great. Petra still makes a huge portion of the playlist but now so does the latest Dolly Parton and Beyonce. Some great songs in both. I used to really enjoy Audio Adrenaline and I feel as if they never got the credit they were due. I considered them to be fresh and current, and not copycat s like many other CCM. Maybe they were, but I really enjoyed every album from Don't Censor Me onward. I did not like the new albums with Kevin Max as they did not really sound like AA to me. Styx released a new album that was good...and I'm back listening to movie scores like the new Superman. Kinda sad how little new stuff I enjoy. Someone else mentioned Weird AL. I wish he had new material because I'd add that in a heartbeat.
