Hey Tom,

You're not the only one in the "I Haven't Seen It Yet" boat.

I had ordered the thing, and it STILL hasn't come in.

I asked Shara what was up with the supposed freebies, and she said again that the employee left with no record, and at the time Bridget asked about it on the Zone, only TWO comp DVDs were left to those who were interviewed. And of course those flew out the window as soon as she posted that PM message. I never got a reply on that either.

So yeah... join my club.

And if it makes you feel any better - JOHN hasn't even seen it yet!
So if the LEAD SINGER hasn't seen it yet, I guess his booking agent is in good company.

He went over to Inpop yesterday - and they MOVED and were no longer in the same building. No one was there. Wouldn't you just know it! lol!

I just laughed and laughed... and so did he!

Sue: I've been laughing about that myself. I wonder if he'll have to order HIS from Amazon too or if they'll find a couple of comp copies for him -- if he can find them, that is!

Hilarious. I'll send it to him, he can watch it, sign it, and send it back.

Just go out and buy the DVD- it's only 10 bucks at most stores. Don't wait around for a handout. Participating in an interview doesn't really take much effort unless you are the guy manning the camera, or in the case of the Farewell DVD holding the mic IN FRAME! I seriously don't understand why so many ppl want a freebie in exchange for what is essentially nothing.

I DID buy it via Christianbook.com - and it's not even here yet. It's not in my town to buy either.

I'm not looking for a "handout," but as the lead singer's webmaster - not to mention booking agent - wouldn't you think a comp copy would be in order??

Like I've said before, I'm the most unofficial official person there is. :?

You are right, of course. I would have participated in the interview session with no promise of anything. I was pleasantly surprised when the Inpop guy came around, after we were escorted to the room where the interviews were taking place, with the sign up sheet offering the freebie. Did I expect it? No. Do I expect that Inpop should live up to their word? Absolutely. That is not nothing to me. Given that Inpop does not seem willing to keep their word, I will go out and buy the DVD. Thereby, of course, reinforcing the policy of promising something without delivering it.

Tom, you'll be happy to see yourself quite a bit on the vid. You're on the interview portion (I didn't know John dragged me "in tow" to the restaurant.... lololol!)

You're also shown quite a bit in the concert itself... ya gotta love that bright yellow "I'm a Pethead" tshirt.... our fun little project, captured on disc for all the world to see. Too cool!

But I have to warn you - and all those who haven't seen it yet - make SURE to take some Dramamine before you watch the DVD... I'm still reeling from last night's viewing.

Well, I don't know how happy I'll be to see me all over the place. I need a treadmill way more than RockOn. I managed to pick up a copy today, so I will be seeing it shortly! :D :!: :D

I figured it had to be John's idea to head to the buffet, hence the 'in tow' comment. :) Either way, I was happy that everyone showed up there. That was one of the highlights of the Pethead convention for me.

Video ALWAYS puts on at least 10 pounds.... that's the way I see it. It SURELY couldn't be all those trips to the Chinese buffet!

That WAS a very fun lunch! I remember it well. I had given him a couple choices on where to go for lunch, and yup - that was his choice. I've never seen a guy fill a plate so many times as he did.

Seriously!

He certianly got my money's worth out of it! :P

The buffet lunch Tom is talking about was during the FIRST Pethead Convention.

Shell, you were at the SECOND one... and look at that - we went to the Chinese buffet AGAIN! lol!

We really need to have a THIRD Convention... don't you think? Thoughts are milling about in my head... keep Dec. 31 open, ok?!

Yeah,

that was the one where nobody knew me and we didn't invited anywhere cause we were there in an official capacity as Antioch.

It wasn't until later that we were excepted into the cool crowd of Petheads. I had to pay my dues

What are you talking about? You were there! ;)

I got mine from Amazon today thinking it was something else I ordered because that item shipped first. Well I just opened it up and saw the words "Farewell"!!

At first I was thinking they might have shipped the CD by mistake. Cause my first item was a CD.

I'll be watching it later tonight.

Just a few oddball comments since tonight is a busy night for me.

First couple songs I was wishing someone would have grabbed the camera's and broke off the zoom button.

The rapid cutting wasn't too bad. I've seen worst. But then maybe I've just been watching "Lost" too long. I can kinda see what they were going for, but I've seen better "off" angles from my local church group filming the church band.

I'm not the most observant guy but I did see a couple moments where the music/lyrics didn't match. I probably could find more but staring at the screen full time woulda make me comatose.

Scrolling on closing credits were all shaky (like the timing was off somehow).

Get rid of Fuhler and put back in Bob's solo.
No wonder Peter has Steve Taylor do his lyrics, not a single brain cell up there. j/k Please note that I AM a newsboy fan. ;)

Now I know what all you pethead's look like. :D

Just like everyone else my DVD never cut back to the menu when the extra's ended. In fact some of the effects in the menu's looked awful similar (I'm working on a little slideshow project for a family member) to effects in some software I use.

A side note on editing. Sometimes I wonder if the wonders of modern equipment is what causes this kinda editing. Cause it is just SO much easier to get caught up in all that cute little stuff when working because it can be done quickly. But then it's easy to lose the overall focus, or big picture.

I still miss the drum fills on beyond belief. But I kinda like the new drummer.

It was nice to see what was going on during certain sections. Gives you a better idea of the musical intent. I think John may have slipped a little on the end of the Jesus Loves You Solo, but then he never let on to that neither. Still an amazing guy though, he just has that inspiring type of play style. Kinda hard to xplain.

Paul Simons just has that familar look. Like the guy that you know you have seen, just, somewhere.

Anyways the visual side makes the music cd just that more enjoyable because now I can see visually what they were trying to do audio wise.

Overall I enjoyed the experience. Maybe I'll watch it again with my wife and ask her if she notices any out of synch moments. I was trying to do too many things at once when I watched it for the first time.

Teri & I sat down to watch the DVD last night. In general, we both liked it a lot. I didn't mind the cutting, or even some of the transitional elements. Most of it I thought was rather well done. It was not a home movie, with a single viewpoint that can make it easy to lose interest. Most of the editing did serve to add some extra excitement. The only items that I thought were over the top were some of the shakey-ness, and the rapid fire zoom ins&outs. My own personal tastes would not have zoomed in quite so far on some of the closeups, nor would I have spliced in the rehearsal footage during the acoustic set. I may have made some different decisions in places, and done things differently were it my project, but all-in-all, I think Inpop did a pretty good job with the production of the DVD.

I do wish I was sitting out of the line of the camera, though, as we were waiting to be interviewed. Y'all got to see more of me than I'm sure you cared to.
