Bob and John on Doug & Kim

Post by petrabandca » Mon Mar 26, 2007 7:52 am

I just finished listening to Bob and John on Doug & Kim and it was great to hear them, as well as, some great music this morning. I tried sending through an e-mail, but not sure it made it through. However; they did play Here I Am to Worship and I did request that so maybe it did.

Anyway, hope everyone had a chance to tune in a listen because it was a real treat to wake-up this Monday morning and listen to Bob and John have some fun and promote the new album.

If anyone heard let me know what you thought.

They didn't play any live-tunes? I had really hoped they would...

That would have been great to hear. I actually requested Parting Thought, but as a second request I asked for Here I Am to Worship and man I love that song. It was great to hear Seen and Not Heard, but I guess I got to the show a little late and may have missed the beginning, possibly some older songs.

What was the beginning of the show like?

I feel sorry for you CA folk... you had to get up AWFUL early to hear the whole thing!

7 a.m. here in the Midwest... I can handle that much better!

No live tunes... that takes quite a bit of effort to set up, even with just a guitar and vocals, in order for the sound to come through decently. We all opted to keep it simple and focus on the album rather than live versions.

The beginning of the show started out with "Lord I Lift," which is in rotation all the time.

Doug & Kim introduced the guys, chatted a bit and went into Petra retiring:

"Why did Petra retire?"

"Well, we couldn't stand each other any more!"

and everyone cracked up! It was HILARIOUS!!!

"Yeah, that's why we're working together again."

........too bad you missed this part!

They talked about doing the album as indies, and how Bob drives around, selling VE out of the back of his trunk to pay for gas money!

Man, it was a stitch!!

Really, the four of them blended wonderfully.... a great mix of laughter and also serious, reflective moments.

All in all, a great 2 hours.

I was only able to listen to the last half hour. I have tried to record the show, but my computer seems to have had some buffering problems, so not the entire show has been recorded well. I'll have to listen to the whole show another time. Does anyone have a flawless recording of this show?

I didn't think to look into the time zone between there and Ontario, but we are only an hour ahead. When I finally got home and turned it on I would have missed the beginning anyway.

I just hope that this experience allows for future projects. When can we expect the new site to be up and running. Does this mean that petraband.com will be taken down?

Don't fret if you missed it. Trodlan got the whole thing and it's already up at www.petrafiles.com. I'm listening to it now. This is fantastic. This could really help them out. Doug and Kim are being very gracious and are really promoting them.

I'm not sure about the new site, honestly. But it IS in the works.

Yes, Trodland is a life-saver! He's editing it now so we'll just have the II Guys music and interviews, and it'll be up on both John's sites.
