Which Stryper song should Petra cover?
Everybody knows of both of these hard rocking bands. Now it's your turn to pick which song the other band between Petra and Stryper should cover. You can also post your answer if your preference isn't listed.

There was a larry Norman cd out a while back where a bunch of different artists covered his stuff, I would have loved to have seen Petra do one.
I saw Petra with Gaurdian and Tammy Trent several years ago in Wise, Va.
One of Guardians guitar players had to be with his family for some kind of emergency. Rather than cancel Kevin Brandow filled in...he was agreat guitarist.
I would have loved to have heard that line up (K. Brandow, P. Orta, L. Chapin) doing some of these covers.
I would also love to hear some Whitecross/Petra cross covers. Especially the above line up.

Well I saw Bob live as early on as On Fire! and up through Unseen Powerbrent wrote:Orta is an attitude player, meaning that he is not the cleanest player. I'd pass on him.
Never saw Lichens
saw Pete Orta several times as well
Then Bob again at the DVD taping.
I LOVE Bob and he is a masterful guitarist who I don't think has ever gotten enough credit in that department. But I mostly "watched" John S., John L. and Ronnie during those days. And more to point, I felt like a lot of the guitar was under the synths. There was always more guitar live, but still...
Pete Orta days especially with when Kevin basically set up a keyboard and let a tech play it...now that was fun. Pete and co. put up a wall of guitar sound that I would have enjoyed hearing cover some Stryper, Norman, Whitecross...etc.
I guess that is my point...the Pete Orta guitar days, esp. live, seemed to be more of a "guitar" band.

I feel the next Stryper album is more than on hold; I'm not even really sure it will ever see the light of day. Michael's wife and daughter both are going through alot of health problems, and Robert is in the band one day and the next he is sitting on a beach in Mexico while the other 3 band members were recording the album in Jan-Feb; Robert did not even play on this album and there has been a backlash with some fans to as this even being a Stryper album. Some fans have the opinion that its just another Mike Sweet solo album(like Reborn) with some members of Stryper in a supporting role.brent wrote:None. It would sound silly. Besides, Petra is dead and Stryper isn't. Well, it's on hold until Mike gets off of the road with Boston.

Pete
I felt the same way. In fact, I would say he was rather sloppy. A lot of Bob's great guitar parts got lost in the shuffle.Orta is an attitude player, meaning that he is not the cleanest player. I'd pass on him.

Re: Pete
I also feel his guitar playing to be rather sloppy; It's the 90's generation I think. The art of guitar work got lost in the 90's. There seems to be no substance to the playing and it is very shallow.Preacherman777 wrote:I felt the same way. In fact, I would say he was rather sloppy. I felt not only was Lichens was a better guitar player but Brandow was head over heels better then Orta.crossways wrote:Well I saw Bob live as early on as On Fire! and up through Unseen Powerbrent wrote:Orta is an attitude player, meaning that he is not the cleanest player. I'd pass on him.
