just discovered "Our Turn Now" - loved it!!!

Wow. Cool song. Interesting video too. I had heard about this song before but never thought about listening to it until just today. Found it on You Tube and heard/watched it several times. Rockin' song!!

The first 42 seconds before the song actually really starts is kinda cheesy I think, though the message proves a good point. The lyrics to the song definitely make a good point too - about the importance of prayer.

Just curious: except for Carman's singing, was the rest of the music (from the first guitar chord onward) played entirely by members of Petra, or did members of Carman's band also contribute?

As far as I know, Petra played all the music on that song.

We've had that on johnwschlitt.com for a while now... (thank you, Trodland). I'm sure he has it on petrafiles.com as well.

You can view/download a decent quality version here: http://johnwschlitt.com/fans/video3.htm

Scroll down to 1993.

Our Turn to Rock the Cradle of Mine Fields

Post by yamasaaaki har har » Fri Aug 01, 2008 6:20 pm

This song definitely reminds me of Mine Field.

The "arise and shine" section also bears a slight resemblance to "Rock the Cradle of Love" by Billy Idol.
