The first song I ever heard was "Itsy Bitsy Spider"...I think I was around 2 years old...

Oh! You mean first PETRA song I ever heard...sorry...my bad.

"Mine Field" from ON FIRE! I may have mentioned this on another post, but I heard it on a Christian rock compliation tape back in '90 or '91. The intro to that song darn near knocked me to the floor...monster drums, killer guitar riff, and John's scream. Plus, I loved the lyric, "It's a mine field, better watch where you tread...step off the path, and you could end up DEAD!" The other bands on the album were really lame. This song made me think, "Wow! A Christian hard rock band that doesn't suck!".

ON FIRE is still my all-time favorite PETRA album. I mean, come on...songs like "Counsel of the Holy"..."Somebody's Gonna Praise His Name"..."Open Book"..."All Fired Up"...and the above-mentioned "Mine Field". How can you go wrong? Not a single bad song on this CD. It's like the LED ZEPPELIN IV of their catalog.

If my memory serves me correctly, the first Petra song I ever heard was More Power to Ya. I also remember seeing Petra in concert when Greg X. was still leading the charge. They were all dressed in military fatigues; and I remember them playing a lot of tunes from the Never Say Die project. They were the first Christian rock band I had ever heard which is why they still hold a special place in my heart to this day. They have always seemed to faithfully proclaim the message of Christ without lauding themselves.

Cameleon was on a TV Ad in the 80's in Australia it must have been the first time I had heard them.

Dad got This means war LP when it came out that was the first time I really listened to them.

The first one I ever heard was Seen and Not Heard. I didn't see it. I heard it. But the name of the song is "Seen and Not Heard." Some people saw it. I only heard it. A few years later I saw it though.

I think Beat the System but I'm not sure. My dad played Petra in the car all the time in the 80s when I was a kid.
