Re: BTTR Must Be Selling Well
Different countries have different rules. I think the US rules are the strictest. In the Netherlands I am allowed to have a copy of any recording for my own purposes. I am not acting illegal if I download it somewhere on the internet. But it is not allowed to offer any recording to which you don't own the right for download. So the rules are a bit weird, but if I have tons of movies and music on my computer, I'm acting perfectly within the law.
But FYI, because I love Petra I purchased the download and I will be purchasing the CD as well.

Actually, if folks don't stop illegal downloading (stealing) then the problem will fix itself. Artists will stop recording anything so there will be no new material to steal. Have fun slowly killing the source!Maybe you'll sing a different song when the RIAA gestapo is bashing down your door handing out summons and lawsuits.

Re: BTTR Must Be Selling Well
We have our biblical and political differences that we debate all the time and that’s fine, I do respect those who stand up for what they believe. I love everyone here despite all of our differences. Purchasing downloadable music is fine. But if someone is illegally downloading music then I have no respect for them. There are a lot of us here that work hard and make our living on our music and we’re here supporting a band that does the same thing.separateunion wrote:Guess you guys are having fun with your circle jerk of hating on people who download music. I have no respect for anyone who illegally downloads music, software or anything like that. As far as I'm concerned, if someone here is going to do this to Petra then they are not supporting them and shouldn’t be around here, I love everyone here but that kind of thing is not tolerated; Daniel already put a stop to someone who posted downloadable links. If an artist decides to give their music out free that is their choice, but if someone is freely distributing an artist’s music without their consent that is a punishable crime and that is the same as stilling someone’s money.

Your countries immoral laws don't put you in a good position with the artists or God. Next time you go to a show, go shake the artists hands and tell them that you support them by downloading their hard work for free and see where that gets ya'.p-freak wrote:Different countries have different rules. It's immoral and biblically wrong to steal what is not yours to take.
It is legal in the USA for females to kill their babies. That doesn't make it right. Christians are not limited to the moral compass of the law. That comes from the bible.

Right one. It takes a wake-up call to get some people's attention. Stolen bibles, music, and church offerings will not bless a Christian. Doing bad to get something good never works out.Jonathan wrote:Maybe you'll sing a different song when the RIAA gestapo is bashing down your door handing out summons and lawsuits.separateunion wrote:Guess you guys are having fun with your circle jerk of hating on people who download music. If the product you are getting off the internet originated from the U.S or from a country where it is illegal then yes you actually are breaking the law. Plus I'm not even getting into the moral part of the equation.p-freak wrote:Different countries have different rules. I think the US rules are the strictest. Bakersfield you are correct and I agree. I do not have any respect for anyone that practices this. Separateunion you are totally in the wrong here and what you are doing is stealing and is very immoral. If you so choose to continue doing this my respect for you as a man of God is totally gone.bakersfieldpethead wrote:We have our biblical and political differences that we debate all the time and that’s fine, I do respect those who stand up for what they believe. No sham or shame here. We protected our country with a great offense; In war its never good to be on the defense; WAR IS A NECESSARY EVIL!!Matthew RJ wrote:Amen! Just like Jesus taught us!executioner wrote:Better on their shores than on ours!
Don't kill unborn babies, but let's go to war and rejoice as the bombs fall on someone else (their shores, not ours!)
And the American claim to moral / spiritual superiority is exposed as the sham that it is.

Show me Scripture where it says protecting your country and family is wrong. Same goes for War; give me some evidence!
