TrodLAN, of course Classic Petra sounded dated. That's kind of the point. It is what it is and meant for who it's meant and that's really not for people who just into the kind of rock that was offered on Jekyll and Hyde. I think such comparisons are pointless, because we are really dealing with two different bands.

He was just telling the perspective of some friends who were not into Christian music - nothing wrong with that. It's really a positive thing, because here are people who are not into Christian music at all (maybe non-Christians, he didn't say) and they liked Jekyll & Hyde. Now THAT is cool!!
