JAH is a must for any Petra fan; you won't look at Bob in the way you did before. Even without any solos this is Bob at his finest hour. Great riffs and some of the best lyrical content Bob has ever penned.

Re: Top 5 Favorite Petra Songs with John
Thankful Heart - First Petra song with John I heard and I still love it.
Beyond Belief
I Am Available
I Need To Hear From You
Just Reach Out
Honorable Mention: Wake The Dead, Inside Of You and Show Me the Way from his solo album Shake. The video for Show Me the Way is a riot.
This isn't a complete list at all, but these songs mean a lot to me; I connected with them in a special way.

Five songs? How about 5 albums?? I mean, I can pick five just from side 1 of This Means War! (That would be all five tracks on side 1, for those playing at home...)
So I'd just have to go with some that have hit me hard at various times, in no particular order:
He Came, He Saw, He Conquered
Keneniah (as a worship leader, I dig the tribute to a little-known Bible character)
You Are My Rock
King's Ransom (yeah, it's a slow one, but it's a gem that is sadly overlooked)
Somebody's Gonna Praise His Name
My first REAL exposure to Petra (other than the "Beat the System" video and some radio cuts) was when Dad brought home _This Means War!_ on cassette; we played that tape literally to death. It's still my favorite Petra album.

Yeah its next to impossible to pick just 5 just from the shear volume of his catalog. My five favorite Petra albums with John as the lead are:neonpachyderm wrote:Five songs? How about 5 albums??
