It's a STORY that begins in the '80s, and ends in the present (did anyone notice the vintage car in the early scenes?).

How can a video be cliche if it's following the story of the lyrics? So basically you're saying the SONG is cliche....

Preacher - The mother is wearing jeans, gym shoes, a turtle-neck shirt and a sweater. What is abnormal about that? It doesn't mean you're old... give me a break! it's obviously late Fall/early winter, so people who live in the North DRESS WARM. Take it from one who knows... and who has dressed like that... and who is NOT 60ish.

It's hard to find current and God driven out of the same artist nowadays and John has done that.

This song so beautifully depicts my true life experience. I am so blessed to now have a relationship with my birth family as well. It's great to see the young girl be portrayed in a positive light as so many kids get the impression that their birth mother was selfish and didn't want then when in most cases they were a selfless individual sacrificing their own feelings so their child could have better than they could provide.

It's a nice video. A little strange being made 3 years after the album dropped but who cares? The director/editor did a fine job as did John. The video helps the song(+1):)
