I'd go see them just because I never got to actually see that lineup in concert. The only Petra concert I was ever actually able to attend was in the "Midnight Oil" tour. It was excellent, of course.
I have seen Greg X. perform solo, though. So, it would be great to see the old Petra together once again.
One of my biggest wishes is to go to a Petra concert. Even though John's better I'd still see Greg, but that'll never happen,
Petra still does occasional shows I think.
My parents would never let me go to a concert, Petra or not and besides, I'd have to pay for it myself, have someone drive me and by the time I'm old enough they'll probably be completely done

Yeah. I probably won't ever see them ever, I don't think they go to B.C. often

Haha or Minnesota. One of my older sisters birthday was the same day as a Metallica concert last year and there were some tickets for sale cuz it was in the cities and I felt sad for her because obviously she wouldn't be allowed to go.

Idk, people generally consider the lineup with John Schlitt ~1990 the dream team. I like Greg too though

John Schlitt is better imo, but Greg is fine too. It's just that when I started listening to Petra I started out with John's albums all the way through Wake Up Call, and am just now listening to more if Greg's album's, but I honestly don't know anything really about this whole Dream Team thing so...

The "Dream Team" refers more to how well they worked together; the lineup of Hartman, Schlitt, Weaver, Lawry and Cates were together for 6 years (1988-94) and made 5 albums, more than any other Petra lineup. Volz, on the other hand, only had a consistent band (Hartman, Weaver, Slick, Kelly) for 3 albums over only 3 years (1981-83). It refers to the lineup, not the singer, hence "team".

Thanks, I wasn't 100% sure on what this was

I prefer 'dream teams' then I guess for anybody I listen to and when digging into artists I newly discover I tend to go through those albums first which is what I did with Petra

Wow, what an old thread and fun read. It was nice interacting with John Slick. I had a conversation with him on the phone once or twice after this thread. We were supposed to hook up for lunch when I was in Nashville but I emailed instead of called. Still kicking myself over that missed opportunity.
I don't think there will ever be another dream team show. The last one was captured on the CCM United Show and DVD a couple of years ago. That performance was a bit rough for John.

That sounds way cool! My mom was supposed to interview the singer for LA Guns when she was a teenager but she accidentally wrote down the wrong phone number, I think she was kicking herself for that
