I have a 6 disc changer in the car and always have at least one Petra CD in there. I am waiting for the Stryper, Guardian, and Whitecross albums, and new and current artists I am listening too are Jonah33 and Skillet. Believe it or not these are the only CCM artists I have listen to in about 3 years. I have a huge distaste on how CCM is and have no intentions of ever going back.
On the secular side U2's new album I like, and I went to the Def Leppard/Bryan Adams concert the other night and was very impressed with Leppard; Their shows are totally live no dubbing of vocals or anything you could hear a few mistakes but a very tight show.
After Petra who?

I saw them as well.
It's hard to imagine that band ever being "metal" by classification.
Vivian is just a freak. I like him alot. I have never seen so many Jackson guitars being held up horizontally by the trem bar. Phil is pretty dang good. I wish I could get him to play on a CD.
I could tell that the songs are a just a hair out of range as they have matured. But they use the arena rock motif to their advantage in those places.
Great show.

Hello Ame-e-e-e-erica! High and Dry-y-y-y-y-y!!
I agree with the metal thing - Def Leppard can be filed in the hard rock category, but the sound is not so much heavy metal as it is arena rock -maybe what you could call "light metal". With the exception of some stuff on Hysteria and Retroactive (those two albums have some pretty heavy songs like Rocket and Only After Dark for example).
Funny thing is, though, I wrote an essay on Def Leppard in an English class my senior year of high school, and I titled it something like:
Def Leppard: Heavy Metal Rockers
