I agree... Petra should never have stooped to recording that Argent song. Three times. hehecalicowriter wrote:It just didn't seem right to me. There are so many good Christian songs out there; I don't see the need to manipulate secular songs to fit the occasion.

Three times? I'll take your word for it. I know you are kidding, but truthfully, I'm not all that fond of Petra's recording of GGR&RTY. I am NOT one of the people who screams for it in concert. It doesn't 'trip my trigger' as Sue would say. But apparently it does Greg X Volz's.calicowriter wrote:

The guy who owns the gym I attend goes to a sister church that I go to. He heard that I went to Petra's concert in Dawsonville and that John was inspiring us to donate to the Food for the Hungry.sue d. wrote:I don't know if a Petra reunion would be possible - but we sure could have a John Schlitt reunion - he does have a solo band that I know would be more than thrilled to come on down.Murphy would be a wonderful place for a reunion! How bout it!
Wanna start planning now?
The gym owner is a big participant in Food for the Hungry. He thought that maybe him and I could persuade John to do a charity concert in Atlanta to help raise funds for the Food for the Hungry. I would be an interesting endeavor to pursue...do you think?

At the Murphy concert, Greg said their label brought "Gad Gave Rock-n-Roll To You" to Petra. It was original suppose to be part of a compilation album from various artists. After awhile the album project was ditched, but they decided to record it anyway on their own album.
