Re: Petra Wikipedia page project - Nearly done!
Ah. I was thinking 1986, the year of the album's release, but yeah, it was a 1985 show...Daniel wrote:Yes that is 1985.
That's interesting that they don't seem to like the song anymore. Regardless, it's of some historic importance. People change and grow, but their actions remain part of the historical record. Thankfully, most of our regrets are more private than being recorded onto an album purchased by thousands upon thousands of people!

As it turns out, the photos currently used on the Petra Wikipedia page are pretty much all in copyright violation.
We can use freely available content, which means any photos of the band we took ourselves at concerts or gatherings or what-have-you. If you have any you would be willing to offer, let me know. Using non-free content when there is free content available to serve the same purpose is a no-no.

Re: Petra Wikipedia page project - Photos needed
Just leave it.. a lot of bands have copyrighted photos on wikipedia.
U2 for example

If you want to battle a real copyright issue, stop ppl sharing music. No one cares about the photo, especially at that resolution.
Good work though![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

This is the Wikipedia policy:Daniel wrote:Just leave it.. a lot of bands have copyrighted photos on wikipedia.

Please note that our policy usually considers fair use images of living people that merely show what they look like to be replaceable by free-licensed images and unsuitable for the project. If this is not the case for this image, a rationale must be provided proving that the image provides information beyond simple identification or showing that this image is difficult to replace by a free-licensed equivalent.
-----
I can probably use the older photos of Petra and craft a rationale for them, but the more recent ones should ideally be replaced by something we can use freely...

Well I am guessing the picture will maybe get changed when classic Petra hits the road. Maybe a pic from the TBN show?
