Kareoke Petra it was indeed. I always wonder why everybody jumps on me for a comment like that, but if Brent says it nobody gets mad, hummm?

Probably because the general nature of Brent's comments are balanced, he states reasons for his comments.

Brent is always right as well, period.

I guess I can not expect this place to be a democratic one, nor one can always be a piece of pie for everyone to like. We all know there has been some animosity for some members here for a while, because we cant tolerate somebodys opinions, without calling people insensitive, specially if the comment is toward the so called dream team.

Snarky comments have come and occasionally still do come from both sides. It's an issue that at one time very nearly caused a divorce between members of this board. Thankfully, things have gotten much better. I know that personally I have tried much harder to stay out of these little disagreements whereas I used dive in head first. We all have our opinions, we are all going to state our opinions from time to time. I know that sometimes peoples opinions can hurt when they seem to slight our favorite version of Petra or even certain other versions of Petra that we may feel deserve equal respect.

The solution to all this is, IMO, on the one hand, we have to give each other more grace and be more tolerant, but on the other hand, we should try a little harder to state our opinions in way that is not so blatantly offensive to certain other people. I'm fully convinced that sometimes we know as we are posting that some things we say will get under someone else's skin and yet we post them anyway. I know I used to, not because I wanted to be mean, but because I felt those people had been mean in their comments and I wanted to get under their skin the way they had gotten under mine. This is not a Christian reaction. As Christians, whatever we do, we should do in love and to the glory of God. One thing that might help is just saying, in my opinion this is the way it is, rather than stating things like they are a matter of fact, because I think that may be part of what bothers people. Who are you, me or anyone else to state what the facts are in a subjective matter? None of us really can. When it's opinion it's opinion and we should treat it as such. This goes for both the poster and the reader.

I have always said that Petra should have continued with two guitar players and no keyboards just like the 1st record they did. I really wish Greg Hough would have continued on with them. The Farewell show in Ft Wayne was unbelieveable with the original Petra there. Watching and listening to Bob and Greg Playing guitar was amazing!
