The latest on Classic Petra 2012 tour dates from Classic Petra's Facebook page.
You'll be seeing additional little posts today on dates, as they're added to site and so on.

A word to the folks throughout Texas who have been asking about the band's return: Petra and Classic Petra built a 40-year career on NOT cancelling dates.

The Texas dates that did go by the wayside in 2011 weren't due to the band - and to this day no one in the band supports the cancellation - and so they have worked as one - with great diligence - to return to Texas before anything else!

APRIL 24: Cathedral of the Palms, Corpus Christi
APRIL 25: Crosby Church, Crosby (N. Houston)
APRIL 27: LaTourneau University, Longview
APRIL 28: LifePoint Church, Plano (DFW Metroplex)
MAY 3 - Hard Rock Cafe / Nashville, TN
JUNE 2- Skudeneshaven, Norway (SommerGospel)
JUNE 3- Flekkerøy/Kristiansand, Norway
JUNE 7 - Budapest, Hungary
JUNE 8- Debrecen, Hungary
JUNE 9- Veszprem, Hungary
JUNE 10- Wessex Christian Centre, Bournemouth, UK
JULY 14- Kvinesdal, Norway
JULY 17- Borgholm, Sweden
JULY 18- Mariager, Denmark * Tentative*
AUG 10- Mistissini Neoskweskau Sports Complex / Mistissini, Quebec (tentative)
AUG 11- Mistissini Neoskweskau Sports Complex / Mistissini, Quebec (tentative)
AUG 12- JesusFest / Clarksburg, WV
AUG 31- LifeLight Festifal / Worthing, SD
SEPT 28- Rochester, NY
SEPT 29- Lewistown, OH
NOV 5-9 Music Boat Christian Music Cruise (Miami)
NOV 10 - Jacksonville, FL

Now, then! Please note - these are not ALL dates. These are confirmed, and work is ongoing.

It's looking like this will be a full-fledged old school tour going just about everywhere - like the old days.

So, while you may not see a location close to you just yet - there is a *very very* good chance that will change!

There's a pattern here: Texas was FIRST priority....May is mostly studio time. July=more dates in Europe....August-end of year USA + NEW ALBUM expected to drop in September.

What's been posted is dates coming together around those plans! (admin)

The Houston show will be at a church in Crosby. I'm glad they will be in the area but to be honest it is time to lower the expectations a bit. Churches are practically never first or second rate concert venues. This particular show is ten bucks, oaid at the door only so you really can't go in expecting Toyota Center or the Cynthia Woods Pavilion. It probably won't match the Sam Houston Coliseum either, but I am glad to see a group bringing in Petra. THe price point sacrifices the venue, it is a fair trade off.

I'm in favor of a church venue concert over anything; in the DFW area there are hundreds of churches that can give a top quality show that rivals secular venues. This church(Lifepoint) is known for hosting some top CCM artists. I will know on Monday about tickets and I've been told by the church that Petra will be bringing all their own equipment and this will not be ran through the church sound system which will be the best.

Hopeful that the $10 ticket price for Houston is reflective of the price point for Dallas. If so, I might be able to justify making the two-hour trip for it. Of course, if Demon Hunter comes through on their new album around the same time, that'd be a tough choice...

The tickets for the Plano, Tx show are $10 and will only be available the day of the concert at the door. Doors open at 6:15 and the show is from 7-9; as of now no opening act is scheduled, but the church house band might play a few warmup the crowd numbers.

Awesome. $10 is very doable. I'll have to see if I can make that one. Would be a lot of fun!

Mistissini, Quebec??? That's a town that has about two dozen streets and is situated out in the middle of the hinterlands of Quebec. It's 12 hours north of Montreal, according to Google Maps. Really?
