rexreed wrote:Little Drummer BOy is a great song. How bout some tunes yo never want to hear again? My vote would be "Mary Did you Know" and "Christmas Shoes." Please, if you are reading this John, neither of these tunes- they are overly sappy, and one isn't even very good melody wise.
I know John has performed it, and will likely record it, but personally I've gotten quite tired of O Holy Night.
How about a rocked up version of I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day? I keep thinking of the Guardian song (Mr Do Wrong) which quotes it: Then pealed the bells both loud and deep; the Lord ain't dead, nor does He sleep!

Just over 30 minutes to go, and less than $300 away from the 40k mark (John's personal target, or so I hear). I bumped my pledge. Anyone else?

If everyone would bump it up by only $.60 cents, we'd hit John's real goal! I would LOVE to be able to call him and say we made it! (he has no idea because he's traveling with Petra right now in Minnesota...)
I just got a PHONE CALL from a diehard Crew Member, who figured out that if each backer increased their pledge by $.60 cents, we would hit the $40K mark! What to you think? Let's surprise John!

I love the voice but would have to say the reason why I give is because I love John's heart for the Lord; you can tell this is a man of God and deserves all our support. Thanks John for the blessings over the years..

John said today that he was already looking at album cover designs. I posted this on Facebook, but I think John's new album cover should be Santa riding on a Petra-style spaceship guitar sled. Anyone else agree?

The cover:
Santa (John Schlitt) is riding in the sleigh. He has a big bag full of goodies. Dorla is next to him in an elf costume. The reindeer have photoshopped faces of the musicians. Dan is Rudolf.
Below is a crowd of people waiving as John...cough....er...uh....Santa is flying over. The crowd has pics of the donors photoshopped on it.
OR....
John busting out of fridge sized Christmas present...."Surprise!" with a big old smile.
OR....
Dan dressed up as the little drummer boy (I know, didn't exist and the song never happened, but Christmas isn't real either, so roll with it)...John and Dorla are Mary and Joseph and Bob is Jesus in the manger.
OR....
John is a snowman being chased around the yard by Louie with a hair dryer.
OR....
John and Ted Nugent are chasing Mr. Grinch (insert your most disliked politician here...mine is Obama) with legal, registered firearms.
OR....
A pic of John as a kid, opening up his fav Christmas present.
