I guess after seeing Back stage pass, It made me like this lineup more.

Then again I was in Primary school when that came out, and was very impressionable :D
I actually thought Paul was a far superior drummer to Louie, and I like Louie. Technically, Greg on bass was great, but Ronny certainly had a better stage presence. It would have been nice to have a second guitar or keyboards on the Farewell Tour, but c'est la vie.

And I was in third year university when Backstage Pass came out (where are the walkers?) :P
I think Paul is an awesome drummer too.

You know how when your a kid it seems like the days seemed like years... I guess it felt like forever it was John,Ronny,Johny,Bob,Louie so thats it for me... I guess that would the same for GXV lineup fans who were kids in the early 80's?

I am constantly amazed at what people consider stage presence. Personally, I did not Ronnie's stage presence. He was spastic with that side kicking of his leg, and stomping. To me, I would rather someone stand still and play his butt off. It is more impressive to me to make it look effortless. But I am a muso and not a young girl. I liked Marks playing and tone better too. But I am into that era of music more. The moon boots were gay!

I'm with you Brent on the style also. I think another great bass player is Ross Valory(Journey) just great smooth style.

I hear ya on the better mucianship. However, when I go to a live show, I want to think the performers are having fun. When I see Greg, all I see is a guy who's constipated.

However, musically, he plays second fiddle (chello?) to no one.
